What hinders the establishment of Islamic unity?

So what is the real reasons that hinder the establishment of Islamic unity?

Who bears responsibility for that, Muslim peoples or governments of Islamic countries?

Answer to question no. 1

According to one Hadith; Holy Prophet (SA) told that a time will come when non Muslims will invite other non Muslims to attack Muslim countries as if they are inviting them for dinner... The Companions asked that will we (muslims) be very few at that time? ... the Holy Prophet (SA) said No muslims will be in a large number like never before and will have many resources as well. But Muslims will have two problems in them. Those problems are THE LOVE OF THIS WORLD and THE FEAR OF DEATH

This is only a summary of the hadith. I heard it in Sermon of Jummah few months ago.....

Today majority of us is focusing this world and have forgotten the true teachings of Islam. We focus on getting big educational degrees but unfortunately majority of the parents don't focus on making their child a Hafiz of Quran and its teachings. Very few gets to understand this.

Unity can only come if we follow Islam 100%. If we follow Islam 100% insha Allah , Allah will once again bring unity in us, because unity will come in muslims who follow Islam fully. It will not come in part time Muslims who ,for example, earn Haram earnings by working in Banks in the day, and in night he cries in front of Allah for forgiveness of his sins.. we have understand what is allowed and disallowed in Islam. then we have to live our life according. Ultimately Unity in muslims will come surely...

if we will keep on going on the way of non muslims way of living, believe me that muslim will not be successful in this world as well as in the world hereafter.....

Answer to Question 2

The responsibility of unity is on every body: the Islamic Scholars. the rulers, the common man and women.

Every man; powerful or weak can work for unity. If he don't have resources for uniting the whole Ummah, he can try it at the micro level i.e. within the areas of the country OR within society OR even within family...

a common man can struggle to unite his family. A respectable person of the society can work for unity of the society. An elected leader of a particular area (like in Pakistan) can try to unite the muslims of the whole area. ..... likewise it goes on and on to the unity of the whole Ummah....the above efforts, if done will create a hierarchy with which we will achieve Unity as one Ummah....

It can't be done by one person. Its a collective effort that is to be made...

On the day of Judgment we will be answerable to Allah to the things that were within our capacity of doing....

every Muslim will be asked ; what he did for the unity of Ummah Within his capacity. The Rulers will questioned about their work for uniting the whole Ummah .. A common man, if he didn't had the resources for uniting Ummah, will not be questioned about uniting the whole ummah.. But he will be questioned about those efforts that he was capable of doing for uniting the Ummah...

So in summary, every muslim have to assess himself/herself for what he/she is capable of doing for uniting the Ummah, by considering his resources ... And after assessing it make a plan for it and perform it....

Every muslim can assess himself/herself well and every one is answerable to Allah for his/her deeds. If we even have a minute capacity for this struggle, then we should do it, because it will then become OBLIGATORY on us to do that effort. If its not done by that individual, even after having the capacity, then he/she will be answerable to Allah for that....

And finally the one who are so weak that they can't do anything, should at least pray to Allah for unity.. Insha Allah, Allah will accept this prayers as a struggle form their side.

.
becoz muslims care more about their individual pre islamic history and their race is more important to them than religion..

.
The only thing that unites is common interest. Not from any religious book, but this is the secret of human behaviour. Thank me for breaking it to you.

My dear brother, your words should be inscribed on a tablet of gold You have put your hand on the wound, I have read your reply twice, This was not enough for me.

your words reminded me of words saying by the Caliph Omar Bin Al Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him): We are a people who were living the life of humiliation, When we became Muslims we became noblest by Islam, If we want glory without Islam Allah will made us humiliated

Thanks for these perfect summary ... you are 100% correct ..

Oh you mean like unite and become powerful for the interest of... mmm... ok let me guess - martians? NO, YOUR own interest. Yes you can make it sound selfless and all that, if it makes you happy.

And abt the person who keeps talking of the ottomans, well they do know the ottomans were resented deeply by the other nations under them???

Islamic Unity?:rofl::rofl: What a joke, no offense but that will never happen! Especially considering the fact that Muslims are divided by race, nationality, culture, and ethnicity (1971 war).

I certainly don't want a repeat of 1971!:disagree:

The only countries that we can build better brotherly relations with is Afghanistan, Iran, Turkey, Azerbaijan, and the central Asian Turkic republics!

Subs se pehle Pakistan! :pakistan::pakistan::pakistan:

and what about your country pakistan, the east and the west of the river sindh has completely different nation, but still we are united, and can serve as a model for islamic unity, the 71 was the conspiracy of indians and the americans and russians helping them, it was not bengalis that wanted separation but it was bharatis who in 71 entered the east pakistan and that gave the bad bengalis to gain power, believe me if it was not india in the middle pakistan had been united..

Allah says in Surah Al Hadeed

"Not equal among you are those who spent (freely) and fought before the Victory, (with those who did so later). Those are higher in rank than those who spent (freely) and fought afterwards. ”

on the day of Judgment you will not be asked whether you created unity or not?... You will be asked What you did to create unity among muslim within your capacity?

I don't want to get in detail religious perspective of this but the incidents that are happening in the Muslim World are ultimately taking us to the point where it will be very important for us to be untied as one muslim Ummah, even to exist in this world.... So the unity of Muslim is sure to come insha Allah..

If it doesn't come in the near future, then it will come afterwards. but it will come insha Allah for sure.....

So considering the above ayat, those who will struggle for it now are not at all equal to those who will struggle for Islam when Unity will Insha Allah come within the muslims....

So brother be a part of this struggle within your capacity, rather than just making fun of the Muslim unity and limiting it to just few muslim countries you mentioned above, because Qur'an tells us about unity of every muslim and not just few countries based on our national interests..

All the reasons in this thread is exactly why Pakistan is a failed state. It was doomed to begin with. You CANNOT form a country based on religion.

Your development is backwards. Now, people will vote for Musharraf in the next elections and you will be driven even more backwards.

I hope you realize this folly soon.

.
Muslims today are busy branding each other as kafir, mushrik, murtad and what not. Shia's call Sunnis as deviant. Sunnis call Shias as deviant. Deobandis call Barlvis and ahmadis deviant. Muslims from one country calls muslim from another country as kafir.

Everyone is busy putting a label on other persons belief. Once we stop this and tend to our own internal matters, strengthen our own religion, perhaps then we can start thinking of unity.

Till then everyone will be busy looking for people who follow their brand of "Islam".

In the world There are only two countries that classify as homogeneous population, Japan and Korea
The rest of the worlds countrys is made up of races and ethnicities and different religions, In order to unite the country you must find the common factor between its people, or there must be majority of ethnic, racial or religious
For Pakistan, we know it is made up of many peoples and many languages, there is no one ethnic majority in pakistan, so the main factor that unite all pakistanis is the religion, as well as Iran half of its population are Persians and the other half consist of many ethnics, but which brings together the people of Iran is religion also

Your words are true, But the difference between Shiites and Sunnis Is a disagreement between the percentage of less than 10% of Muslims with the rest of the Islamic nation, 90% of Muslims are Sunni Should not make such a controversy with Muslim minority Reason for the lack of unity

.
many valid contributions, and not necessarily one factor or solution.
For me the two most ridiculous things Muslims are fighting over today is:
1) borders, that were created by the West as part of an imperial project
2) which brand of Islam that is the more "correct"

I think we need two solutions on the table
1) for example redraw the borders so they become more natural, and include these new states in a federation or federal republic just like many of the successful states around, i.e. USA, Switzerland, Germany etc.

2) Muslims should stop trying to do God's job of judging people and concentrate on themselves.
