What's new

Pakistan Army high altitude Mountain rescue operation under way.

@Kaptaan they are above 7300 m higher than any helicopter in the world can fly. Who ever goes up there will die. If polish are so eager they can do it them selves but in this operation every thing has to be calculated. they want their man down in sec but we cannot get our man killed in the process this rescue needs planning. Under the current weather any helicopter cannot make altitude more than 6000m and there are not landing pads at that height my friend. Polish are just bashing to get their men down nothing more.

Thats not true. Our Eurocopter even landed on the Everest

I see another problem...evry year in Italy we spend millions to bring people down from the mountains...

The worst was when a group of elderly people walked up Mt Etna...while Etna was erupting.
Well, at 3350 meters, it is half the height of the Nanga Parbat and this height is a piece of cake for any helicopter.

Look at the Polish government.. they were delaying financial guarantee.. They are also thugs.. caring more about finance than their citizens..

. . . .
Nanga Parbat is a volcano?
It is not but I guess the elderlies were not rescued from the cauldron either.
Nanga Parbat is called killer mountain for a reason. It is far more dangerous to climb it than even K2 or Mt Everest. It summit stays enveloped in thick clouds for the most part of the year...only a few lucky ones (mostly locals) get the chance to see its peak with naked eye. I have been to its base camp twice so I know what I'm talking about.

They were. Thats the madness. The rescue teams were hit by stones, lava bombs and debris. Most here are absolute fed up from idiots who do such things and then bring others into danger.

Then kudos to the rescue team but some times such idiots should be left alone to face the music if they don't pay heed to the public notices and warnings.

No, Polish and I think French.

Ever wondered why Pakistan get's bad wrap abroad? I know lot of it is Indian propaganda and self harvested animosity from being rabidly Anti-Semetic but Pakistan has a uncanny ability to shoot itself in the foot. Read below -

"Negotiations with the Pakistani authorities slowed the rescue efforts on the morning of Saturday, January 27. In an interview with the Polish Newspaper Gazeta, Piotr Pustelnik, the President of the Polish Mountaineering Federation, called the authorities’ actions in waiting for a financial guarantee before initiating rescue efforts “shameful.”

Firstly do u know whats semitism? Even arabs are semitics. So how come pakistan has "self harvested animosity for being RABIDLY anti semitic"

Secondly, jews and isarelis hatred for muslims and pakistanis is not a hidden thing. And we pakistanis don't even need to give any explanations to two bit nobodies for why we like or dislike someone,Thirdly , if anyone who is a rabid hater here then thats none other than urself who likes to disparage pakistan cause of ur psychotic mindset.

thirdly, why is it shameless to wait for guarantees? Are we responsible for the mountain climbers mishaps on mountains? These financial guarantees should be fulfilled before the start of expedition so that in case of an accident one doesnt have to go through these processes.

Tell me if you are from a rescue team or army rescue team , as a pakistani ur job will be to ensure the safety of tourists from terrorists or thugs but is it ur job to take care of climbers while stuck on the mountain,

Tell me if u have kids back home and here u get an alert that some daredevil climbers who chose to risk their lives to climb up those peaks are in danger u run to save them cause ur fcuking low ego wants u to lick Western boots all the time or u will think what if i die in this mission to save some people, those people who never embarked on this mission for some holy or great purpose but who just liked ot put their lives on line for their adernaline rush , would u give ur life for auch stupid missions and risk leaving ur kids as orphans or ur family bereaved.

Hence, the gov or rescue teams dispatching instiutions will seek some guarantees,

U know what Kaptaan just go fcuk urself we pakistanis will do what we think is right whether anyone in the world thinks it brings a bad name on us or good name.

Few points to note here :-

  • Yes, I have had dealings with Polish in UK and they do have a problem with being tolerant but no more then Pakistani people. And they are not all racist.

  • This is a rescue operation. If it's about making profit then don't bother even launching a operation because your never going to make a profit. So citing costs is ridiculous propostion. You either do it on humanitarian basis or don't bother.

  • These cases do not happen every day. Whenever Pakistan is on the news it is invariably for bad reasons, terrorism, radicals, murders, political instability, etc etc. This time again it is on news. This offers Pakistan to come out looking good. Countries spend millions on their image. Doing good and make media headlines for something positive is worth doing.

  • But like I said if you guys want to keep up the "bad Pakistan" perception by all means don't rescue the mountaineers and insist on $$$. That should make Pakistan filthy rich. I am sure we will make billions of dollars from this "rescue industry".

Just reaching the summit is not the issue when it is just one pilot in a heavily modified chopper during the best time of the year (May). PA pilots will have to hover and then rescue someone from the side of the mountain and carry his/her weight as well. And comparing Mt Etna to the mountain ranges in northern Pakistan is even more of an apples & oranges exercise.

I think we both agree that an erupting volcano has its own risks.
