Soldiers’ bodies being transported on animals in Tirah Valley have sparked outrage, and questions are being raised about why helicopters aren’t being used.
Before anyone jumps to conclusions or fuels baseless propaganda, let’s set the record straight.Firstly, Tirah Valley is an active warzone.
This region is a stronghold for terrorists, where every move is monitored. Deploying helicopters in such a volatile environment is extremely risky. A single RPG or anti-aircraft shot could take down a chopper, causing more casualties. Helicopters are not there to flaunt convenience they are deployed to protect and save lives, not to take unnecessary risks.Secondly, geography matters.
If you’re criticizing this practice, it’s clear you’ve never studied the terrain of Tirah or areas like it. Tirah Valley is rugged, mountainous, and unforgiving, with sharp ravines and steep slopes. Helicopters cannot simply land wherever they please. Pick-up points are coordinated with ground troops for safety and practicality. In many areas, transporting bodies on animals is the only viable option because even helicopters can’t access such locations.
To put it bluntly: You save lives, not dead bodies, when you have to choose.During this operation, helicopters were engaged in attacking and eliminating terrorists, protecting the living troops in the field. The mission always prioritizes saving lives over retrieving bodies it’s a painful but necessary reality of war. Even the U.S. military abandoned areas like Nuristan for similar reasons: the terrain and risks made holding or operating in such regions nearly impossible.
To the critics mocking this practice:You belittled our soldiers for years, accusing them of fighting for dollars, VPN bans, and DHA plots. Now, suddenly, you claim to care about their dignity but only because it suits your agenda to discredit the armed forces.
Let me be clear: Enough is enough.Your ignorance of geography, combat realities, and the sacrifices of these men is appalling. Transporting bodies on animals is not a sign of disrespect it’s a necessity dictated by terrain and operational risks.Our soldiers give their lives in the harshest conditions, fighting for a nation that often fails to appreciate them. Their sacrifices demand gratitude and respect, not armchair outrage from those who neither understand nor care.
Pakistan’s defenders know what they’re doing. They deserve honor, not opportunistic criticism.

Curfew imposed as forces move into Waziristan to contain militancy

SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: Curfew has been imposed in Shakai valley of Lower South Waziristan and Ladha tehsil of Upper South Waziristan from Saturday (today) for an indefinite period due to movement of security forces to overcome the growing incidents of militancy.

According to a notification issued from the office of Lower South Waziristan deputy commissioner Nasir Khan on Friday, the decision was taken due to unstable security situation prevailing in the region for the last several days.

He appealed to the people of Shakai for cooperation at this critical time, advising residents to stay indoors.

The security situation in the area has been tense for last several days with reports of targeted killing and terrorist activities in North Waziristan and both the Lower and Upper South Waziristan districts, the notification said.

The security forces are working to restore peace and stability in the area and curfew is imperative to ensure public safety, he said, adding the curfew would be lifted once the security situation improved.

It is worth mentioning here that militants attacked vehicles of Frontier Corps at Sara Pul Road in Shakai tehsil on Thursday.

The security forces retaliated by using mortars and artillery, forcing militants to flee the scene.

Similarly, a notification issued by Upper South Waziristan deputy commissioner Saleem Jan said that Ladha tehsil would be under complete lockdown due to the movement of security forces in the area.

“The curfew will be strictly enforced with a complete shutdown of all traffic, and residents are advised to stay indoors and not venture out of their homes. The security forces are working to ensure public safety, and the cooperation of the residents is greatly appreciated,” the notification said.

Seven terrorists killed in Balochistan, KP: ISPR

Operation in KP

In KP, three terrorists were killed in an exchange of fire with security forces in Bannu district on Friday morning, the military’s media wing said.

The ISPR statement said an intelligence-based operation was carried out on the reported presence of militants in the area.

The forces “effectively engaged” the terrorists’ location during the operation and killed three of them. Two terrorists were also injured.

The statement added that weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the possession of terrorists, who were “actively involved” in attacks against security forces and civilians.

A sanitisation operation was being carried out to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area, the ISPR added.

Two cops were martyred while another three were injured in the early hours of Tuesday when terrorists attacked a police checkpost in the Gunangar area of Shangla district’s Chakesar Tehsil in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, officials said.

After the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) broke a fragile ceasefire agreement with the government in 2022, the country witnessed a sharp uptick in the number of attacks targeting security forces and other law enforcement agencies, particularly in Balochistan and KP.

According to the interior ministry, in the past 10 months, 948 out of 1,566 terrorism incidents reported occurred in KP, resulting in 583 deaths (out of a total of 924 martyrdoms).

Umar Rehman, spokesperson for the Shangla district police officer (DPO), told Dawn.com that Mohammad Hassan, an assistant sub-inspector from Alpuri, and head constable Nisar Ahmad got martyred in the attack, while three constables were injured.

Rehman added that preliminary information suggested the checkpost was struck with heavy weapons, such as rocket launchers and hand grenades, due to which the walls of the checkpost’s small building collapsed, burying a constable beneath.

The injured police personnel were moved to the district headquarters hospital in Battagram by locals and officials of the Dandai police station, Rehman said.

The incident took place in Chakesar tehsil’s Gunangar, which is a remote area near the Karakoram Highway and the Indus River.
