What's new

Pakistan Army high altitude Mountain rescue operation under way.

There is a problem here. These climbers climb these mountains fully knowing the risks. The Pakistan army has in the past carried out rescue missions and saved foreign climbers. It is an expensive and time consuming undertaking.

I believe that we need to end these summits. It is very risky. We know that some climbers will get stuck or fail to survive. Only the Pakistan army is capable to carry out high altitude rescue missions. I don't think it is thr job of our army to carry out rescue missions and waste precious resources.
They are not doing it for free , they asked for the expense and polish ppl ave given it.

This should be the last climbing permit as far as my opinion goes. The Pakistan army isn't a rescue team. Every time some foreigner climbing a mountain gets stuck the Pak army is expected to come to the rescue. Whether the Polish have paid or not is totally irrelevant.

Army should be like from now onwards NO help from our side, come and rescue these skinny bastards yourself.Permits should be cancelled once for ever.

Absolutely. This has been going on for too long now. We need to end this. Our mountains are toughest climbs in the world. There are no guarantees and we cannot expect the Pak army to keep rescuing mountaineers.

Who o which ever country has a problem with Pakistani attitude, let them come and carry out rescue mission. as per Italian guy, if Italy is better then PA, let them offer rescue at humanitarian basis, same goes for other who has problem with Pak attitude.

No matter what you do or die trying for some low lives its never good enough...retards will be retards always.

These foreign retards choose to climb Pakistani mountains and fully know the risks associated. Not only are these mountains extremely tough to climb, but there is also the element of uncertain weather. These nutjobs think they can own the mountain, but they can't. Let this be the last undertaking. Hopefully they are saved and dispatched to their countries. No more inexperienced and arrogant foreigners climbing our mountains.

Remember that our Pak armed forces are also putting their own lives at risk by undertaking a truly difficult and risky mission. At this rate, the Pak army will always be forced to carry out rescue missions because there is simply no one else capable of doing the job. Rescuing climbers is simply not their job.

The only solution is to end climbing permits. Enough of this BS.

All is good, but I do not support closing down climbing/hiking tourism. we just need to put things in place for these situations. For example, for any mountain climbing mission climbers must get NOC from their embassies with some very clear and specific terms and conditions. If their own embassy and relevant department in their country clear them, then only Pak should allow. Accidents, rescue ;and other possible scenarios must be part of standard document.

That sounds good on paper. Everyone knows that the minute some climber gets stuck the Pak army will have to come into action.

You have to understand the terrain. These mountains cannot be compared to ordinary mountains. These are the highest and most difficult mountains with a brutal surrounding. At a certain point even the Pak army cannot be of any help. Only a miracle can save the climber. The altitude is simply too high. Usually the climbers get stuck when reaching the so-called bottleneck. This is a point where helicopters can hardly reach. No personnel no matter how trained can be of much help at such an extreme elevation. Although, the Pak army is highly specialized and trained in high altitude climbing and warfare. This is the only reason why they can carry out extreme missions at such extreme altitudes.

We have to accept the reality. For the climbers it is thrill and adventure, but for us it is a headache as soon as someone gets stuck. At the minimum, we need to ban the climbing of those mountains that are known for being dangerous. Promote tourism, but not at the cost of extreme rescue missions.

hence the reason to involve climbers country approval, which will contain all terms and conditions and liabilities, keeping harsh conditions etc in mind. If they get NOC which should include rescue terms and conditions and guarantees in advance, before you enter Pak to carry on your expedition.

can not just deny the permission to real climbers, responsibility is upon Climber and their country to allow or deny their citizens. Once they provide all required approvals with their country stand guarantees all is well and good.

and i think each country will give NOC to only those with proven record and experience, because they are responsible in the end, ig anything goes wrong.

I agree PA will be the rescuer in any case, but we can save time and drama of bad mouthing in advance.

Just a thought you know, cant change anything or cant stop retards....

I am fine with that as long as the Pak army isn't involved in rescue missions. Let these lunatics climb, but at their own risk. Make them pay real good for the permits.

The french women is stuck at 6500 meter not feet but the polish man is higher. French women has been spotted by Pakistan Army. French women is in good state and can climb some way down. the rescue team has so far reached 5600 m and they will continue to climb in the night to them.

heck of a rescue ... hope they survive to tell the tale girl is suffering from frost bite but the guy was in bad shape i hear he was suffering from snow blindness

Not only these climbers are retard but so is government of Pakistan to allow climbing permits in winter. Are they mad? These mountains are bad enough in peak summer.

Hope they are resuced but I am worried about PA pilots who will be risking their lives to save these idiots.

Lessons should be learned. No more rambo climbs in winter. Our men and assets shouldn't be put in danger for these adrenalin junkies.
