Only the present matters. Ancient empires. Egypt. Rome. Means nothing to us. Only the present world does. And in the present world every person in Crimea is a Russian citizen. Crimea is majority ethnic Russian. That is all that matters. If does not matter 300 years ago Crimea was majority Tatars under Ottoman empire rule. In today's Crimea. There is no more Ottoman.
