If America is so good how come no other part of the world joined America like Crimea joined Russia?

Yeah that's right. Crimea was part of Russia before 1954 when Khrushev gave it to Ukraine. In 2014 March they overwhelmingly voted to leave Ukraine and return to Russia. So I ask. If America is so good like Hollywood portrays, then why no place in the world outside America chose to become part of America? Hmm?

  • Hawaii
  • Puerto Rico

hey want statehood so they can get federal money. Not because they want to be in America.
There is a contradiction in your sentence. There is going to be a motive for wanting to be part of something. You can't say they had a "xyz reason". A motive would exist for all such situations. The same could be said of Crimea. It could be said that most of Crimeans felt they would be better off with Russia and or they were actual ethnic Russians primarily behind the push.

Puerto Rico
I dont think they "joined":

In 1898, following the Spanish–American War, the United States acquired Puerto Rico under the terms of the Treaty of Paris.

It was never really given its own voice to choose....

I know but you I know that Puero Rico if given a free choice would choose USA. As did Hawaii.
In its initial state, Hawaii wasnt given a voice...it was annexed and whites made the deal and only allowed whites to vote not the locals....So, I dont consider that free choice...

As for Puerto Rico...I am not sure what the residents think...But I doubt they are happy with USA...but yea it would do them economical good to join and hence they have asked to be a state...but so far they only have a governor I think

Puerto Rico already have US citizenship. They have huge economic problem. Only way they can get federal funding is if they are a state. Federal government sure as hell won't make them a state. 50 is the number of states forever. 51 won't be a good number for the number of states. It's not round number and easy to say and US flag won't look good with 51 stars.

Ignore him he failed Geography.
If you think about it the OP is asking a real stupid question. It's like he is bored on Sunday and he thought "hey this kind of sounds interesting". Crimea was part of Russia and over 65% of Crimea is ethnic Russians. That about explains why Crimea was tilted toward Russia.

Is your question regarding willingly joining or US citizenship? You do know you can annex a place and give the people citizenship but it doesnt mean they are willing contestants of said fate!
