What's new

Your opinions regarding Afghan Taliban policy vis-a-vis TTP.

This time Taliban came into power through the Qatar accord. Don't keep high hope from this Taliban govt. Pakistan has to go for a pre-emptive strike in the Eastern Afghanistan TTP den.

We will get clarity quite early. Outside forces are banking on the Taliban to muck it up. Without Pakistan though, the Taliban govt. doesn't stand a chance. Not that we are capable of regime change but Pakistan will make it impossible for them to govern and get much needed international legitimacy if they try to play games with us.

Hence, if they are really interested in governing Afghanistan, they should listen to Pakistan. The early months are important because this is where they are the most vulnerable. Get them to mop up TTP or do the job yourself. No one is going to care now if strike targets in Kunar, Paktika, Nooristan to take out ISKP or TTP.

Because of the ISIS threat, regional countries need a strong Taliban govt or stakeholder equal representation in the Afghan govt to counter the ISIS threat which has lately done jointly coordinated attacks inside Pakistan and Pak army.
