In my opinion this thread is as useless as putting Amraam on a Sabre.It doesn't matter who started the arms race in Asia.
China started the arms race,for not competing with India,but rather to standout as a global super power.India in its state of insecurity has increased its imports because it doesn't want to be second to anyone at least in Asia.
China's import in arms has decreased in the past years just because it has a successful arms industry which is developing at a staggering pace.
Now,India keeps acquiring new state of the art technology from Russia or USA because it does not have a very successful homegrown arms industry.Pakistan unlike China only competes in local competition meaning India.Now Pakistan will also have a large arms import because like India its industry isn't booming either.

Now,you cannot state someone as an arms race leader on just the bases of their imports,that would a be highly unreliable figure.

India is JUST growing its homegrown arms industry. Its making its FIRST Tank, FIRST fighter jet, FIRST helicopter, FIRST attack helicopter, FIRST rifle, FIRST a2a missile, FIRST nuclear-powered submarines, etc, etc, etc. Everything is its FIRST home growth.. Give it time, India is starting to do what China has started 50+ years ago maybe.

so chinas insecurity with russia and america is justified even though it did not have a war with them where as india had war with both china and pakistan and unllke usa and russia both china and pakistan are allies so india has a bigger threat than china had any time

The Soviets approached America to see if they were ok with the Soviets using nuclear weapons to stop China's nuclear weapon. America said no deal.

The on American side, MacArthur wanted to nuke China because he was getting his as_ handed to him on a plate by the People's volunteer army.

didnt get anything for america china war,india lost 62 war with china and since china is becoming a super power it is a serious threat to india,both its enemies are its neighbours and come in the best militaries in the world and both are allies to each other
