This is exactly what I was talking about yesterday and I say it again. We muslims see this as extravagant expansion of Hinduism into each and every other field. If this is the original logic then why not add Islamic principles to science too. Religion should not be mixed with science.

The way I see it it has much to do with Hindu nationalism otherwise such claims would not be made. This is an example of what I saw when I went to Agra long ago. Hindutvas had labelled statues and ancient infrastructure of Islamic times with Hindu names and Hindu version of events. I don't even say the Hindu version of events should be removed. I believe it should have been including with the Islamic version of events. That would make if fair.

I see this as aggressive expansion of Hindu religion and it definately puts us muslims on edge. You can make this neutral by either not mentioning Hindutva ideals in science or by including scientific concepts of all religions. In a secular state either all views are maintained in policy or no views are. Favoring one religions line of thinking and linking it with science is a mockery of the secular system Indians should be trying to uphold.



You cannot approach the judiciary. It takes years for a simple case to be resolved. I know some allies from Hyderabad who went there and were told to "go to Pakistan"... My point is India has a lot to do to be a secular state and currently it isn't doing much that is in the right direction.

I always speak up for minorities. But Indians like to ignore their problems until they become a big blob-then they tend to worry and shift blame onto Pakistan for their own poor treatment of minorities.

Again you are overlooking the context here and going into victim mode, It would be helpful if you counter what was said with logic not by flirting with insecurities. Astronomy/Astrology has always played a big role in our country so much so that Secular Chacha Nehru had to follow this Hindu Nationalist point of view when he gave that independence speech. It's not our fault that some of our religious teaching gel well with science, we will promote those aspects and there is nothing wrong in acknowledging that. Unlike other religions we are open for debates and if there be a need we will change accordingly.

Well historical inaccuracy are needed to be corrected, what happened is needed to be told as it is without white washing the atrocities done by invaders.

Union home minister, Rajnath Singh said on Friday that India’s ‘dhoti wearing pandits had better knowledge of space science than the America’s NASA scientists.

At a student function in Delhi college, Singh said, “USA’s NASA can make the prediction that after a month, solar and lunar eclipse will happen at this time… the media says America has such advanced technology, it is predicted one and-a-half years, two years ago. I can say with confidence that if you go to the dhoti-wearing pandit in the neighbourhood, he will pull out the ‘panchang’ and tell you when the lunar and solar eclipses happened 100 years ago and when they will happen 100 years later.”

Singh was reportedly speaking on the value of Indian education. In his half-hour-long speech, the union home minister told students that ‘Dil Maange More’ culture was not Indian ‘sanskaar(values)’ adding that India needed a ‘comprehensive change’ in the country’s education system.


He told students that Rishi Badhongan and not Pythagoras was responsible for the origin of Pythagoras theorem.

“Children, I can give you an example, but I don’t want to take you too far, so you can verify it later… Hundreds of years ago, there was a sage in India, Manish, who did work on quadratic equations… do you know about the Pythagoras theorem?… I want to say that Pythagoras did not create the theorem, and I have no qualms in saying that Pythagoras got information of this theory from Bharat… If anyone gave this theory, it was Rishi Bodhangan, that’s why it is called Bodhangan Praved,” he was quoted by Indian Express.

Singh said that ‘Bharat’ possessed all the fundamentals in its ‘pracheen granths’ (ancient texts) to make the country a ‘Jagatguru'(world leader) adding that students must decide between the ‘Western ‘dil maange more’ culture or Indian values.

According to International Christian Concern, the attack happened in Karmeri village on Sept. 8 when a mob of 50 or more Hindus assaulted Christians with clubs and sticks.

Tension between Christians and Hindus intensified after Christians began to build a church in the village. When news of the construction spread, local leaders passed a resolution under Section 129 (G) of the Chhattisgarh Panchayat Raj Act that banned all non-Hindu propaganda and prayers in the village. Similar resolutions passed in 50 other villages in Chhattisgarh, effectively making Christianity illegal in that state.

Following the passing of the resolution, life for Christians in Karmeri became even more difficult when they became the subjects of a social boycott.

Although India's constitution guarantees religious freedom for all of its citizens, local authorities often deny this right to India's Christian.
