What's new

What about jf-17 for bangladesh airforce?

You are one strange fellow. Do you think Pakistan will sell JF-17 to Bangladesh, no. Do you see how hasina behaving with Pakistan? Do you bother about respect?

Hasina stabbing us and we r oiling her!!!

Who cares about Hasina or Awamil League. It is a business deal. If they want this bird they will pay for it and we will get money in return. It will give Pakistan a new status as it will join the elite club of military aircraft sellers. This will also open the door for other buyers to come forward and buy this bird. So this is a pure business deal and it should remain as one. :)

Our strategic weapons are more important than business deal. why do you think we do not have large business with india though there is good potential?

bangladesh does whatever india wants it to do. like you see transit, handing over militants, river water. can you guarantee me , they will not open the JF-17 to indians? if we sell it will be a great mistake. JF-17 is the backbone of PAF.

.
Go to sleep and keep dreaming. Pakistan will never sell JF-17 to bangladesh.

Actually you are right. Pakistan shouldn't sell JF-17 to Bangladesh. In case you do there is very high likely hood that one of them will fall in our hands. And considering they will be your mainstay fighters it will not be a good idea. Sell it only to your close allies.

Infact I think India will encourage BD to go for JF-17 :azn:

.
Bangladesh better go for JF-17... its reasonable price and has long range radar.

.
whats new abut BD buy F-18 ???????? i am still waiting .umeed per dunya kaim hai lol

.
As Myanmar has mostly chinese a/c's .. i think BD should look to obtain SU30 or F/A 18 E/F SH as strike fighter... Gripen NG/F16 block 60 as a Multirole fighter.. Upgrade mig 29's to SMT standard hopefully with AESA radar.

Bangladesh might not want to source cheap product like JF17 rather go for higher end spectrum

. .
I think BD can aim for 20 SU30MK (strike role ) series... Another 30 JAS Gripen NG. I think Bangladesh already has around 15 Mig 29's which i think are already being upgraded to SMT standard (??).

That would be a formidable Airforce for power projection.. I am not aware of economic situation of bangladesh... So cant comment of what they can afford... If money is an issue there are ways to work around it like strategic alliances/Soft Loans/Defence credits etc. But I think bangladesh's military establishment has good foresight... thats why they got Mig 29 instead of chinese a/c... so whatever they choose next would be one step above ... thats my guess

Bangladesh Air force is considering the MiG-29CMT/Lockheed Martin F-16/Su-30/Saab JAS-39 as next fighter:

According to information published in the journal «Jane's Defence Weekly», became aware that Shah Mohammad Ziaur Rahman (Marshal and Chief of Air Staff, Bangladesh), said at an international conference in London on 2011 that his country intends to buy 16 brand new F-7BGI fighter jets from China. Their preparation is expected in 2012. Details of the contract on purchase of F-7BGI aircraft, remained undisclosed. It is assumed that these will replace the outdated fighter bombers A-5C, now in the service.

Based on statements by the commander of Air Force Staff of Bangladesh, an improved version of F-7 the F-7BGI, created by a Chinese company, known as the Chengdu Aircraft Industry Group, characterized the best on-board equipment. There is a control stick HOTAS, three indicators (multi-) in the cockpit and one on the windshield. Weapon system includes bombs (guided) capable of induced by GPS. Judging from these descriptions, we can safely conclude that, in a sense, the production of the MiG-21 does not stop now.

It should be noted that the Bangladesh Air Force in 2006, has received 16 fighters of earlier versions grade F-7BG, who produced all the same Chinese company, as well as four combat-capable aircraft grade FT-7BG. A little earlier, from 1989 to 2000, the air force acquired an additional 16 fighters marks F-7MB, and 8 training version FT-7MB. Incidentally, today in the ranks stay single machine (23sht.) and 8 trainers. And all of them are registered for the squadrons of 35 and 5 on the Dhaka-Kurmitola Air Base.

According to Shah Mohammad Ziaur Marshal Rahman, the purchase of aircraft F-7BGI will be for a transitional period, because in the next 13-15 years, the Air Force intends to acquire a new generation of fighters (32). The options being considered is the MiG-29CMT, Lockheed Martin F-16 and Su-30 and the Saab JAS-39. In addition, the Air Force plans to upgrade 8 MiG-29 that were purchased back in 1999, and of course, buy a new trainer for advanced training in order to replace the existing L-39.

Is this shopping list for Norway?

They are still planing to buy 16 F-7BG Air Guard, isn't it cheap? If not then they should buy F22 or more superior and expensive bird one and only Tejas.

Day dream! Bangladesh's tiny economy is in great danger. Stock market crashed. They cannot buy JF-17. If asked as aid we will donate them few. but I guess JF-17 will be too high tech for bangladesh air force to operate.

now india will see JF-17 from all sides.

What you said is quite funny, because Pakistan's economy is nowhere close to being in an ideal situation. Also funny is you bunch talking about "donation", im sure you know what i mean. On the other hand, growth projection for this fiscal year is 7% for Bangladesh. Do let me know what your growth projections are :enjoy:

1. BAF is small. BD has a small area compacted with Dhaka in the center. Our thrust is to have the best ground based Air Defense we can afford. With these we will swarm our country making it a graveyard for any aerial intruder.

2. But we will still have a small number of aircraft. Right now we have Q'ed for the J-10 hoping to acquire J-20 in the coming years.

3. BD's defense thinking, and therefore, military eqpt, is intimately linked to China's. Should China have to fight a war in this region, or should BD be forced into a war, then we anticipate BD and China will be allies in such a war.

1. agreed , we already got FM-90 news of going to have tor- m1 too

2. last govt had sign/ came to and agreement to get 36 J-10 for 1.5 billion dollar and now in this govt. opt for f-16 griffen or mig- 29 how we going to maintain different origin of fighter .

3.joining in any war will turn Bangladesh into a grave yard though it will be hard for Bangladesh to trfrain from any such situation but i think we have to try to be nutral in nay India china clash

1.I doubt we are going to buy Western fighters. C130s were all we needed and got. Perhaps we will get some more of these. Also no more Mig 29s. J-10 yes.

2. In the event of a general war between India and China it will be suicidal and even impossible for BD to remain neutral. We have to ally with our ally who will surely emerge victorious. The peoples of Eastern India and BD would be waiting for this opportunity to size up the Brahmonic bullies of Delhi.
