UAE halts sales of Naphtha from Pakistan after getting cosy with India

This is false propoganda by Indian Media.
A direct message from King has been sent to Pakistan exposing Indian Conspiracy, under which UAE have denied to participate in and thus UAE stands with Pakistan and will not support India ill adventures.

UAE did business and they a re free to choose their vendor ,
by the way we must not send ex army police men as mercenaries to quell their local uprisings and Arab awakenings that late gen Hamid Gul was managing... also we cant be obliged to stop trading with Iran because it hurts them

Our Foreign Policy should be based on what benefits Pakistan and not GCC or any other nation Period.

Well, Good. Hope the craze of blind love for arabians in some sections of our society dilutes now.
never expect an unconditional love. i think it is business deal but there is no specific reason to shift towards India when there is already business going on with pakistan. i believe its a failure of our foreign policy.

ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has stopped purchasing Petroleum Naphtha from Pakistan after a $80 billion deal with India, Trade Minister Khurram Dastagir has confirmed.

UAE and India have recently spread their tie-up in the energy sector as well as the petroleum sector.

“It has resulted in decline of exports and increase in trade deficit. However, we are exporting several other items to UAE,” the minister told the Pakistani media on Tuesday.

According to the ministry, petroleum group and coal had a share of 1.8 per cent in exports in July, with a total of three billion rupees.

Last year, Pakistan exported 3490 metric ton petroleum crude worth 320 million while 9425 MT Excel Top Naphtha was exported for Rs920m and 9900 MT Petroleum Top Naphtha for Rs970m.

During the first month of this fiscal, Petroleum Crude of more than Rs2 billion was exported to UAE but only 7117 MT Excel Top Naphtha worth Rs580m could be exported due to 36 per cent decline in exports.

The export of Top Naphtha has reduced to absolutely zero.

Yayyyyy Modi did it again!

I don't understand why folks across the border start celebrating on these tiny things. Yes our exports are no way near what you guys are exporting but let me put this news in perspective for your.

Pakistan was not exporting any petroleum products since 2007, as actually we had no crude oil to sell. In financial year 2014-15 we exported around 200 million USD worth of a type of crude, mainly because our refineries were not designed to process it. That means it made about 0.8 percent of our total exports.

And guess what UAE is not the only country buying naphtha and other crude oil products from us, do you know the name of another country who does it, its is your beloved India which imported 60 million USD worth of crude last year.

Pakistan resumes crude oil export to India after a decade

And in fact there is debate between the experts in Pakistan that naphtha should never be exported anyway. It can be used to generate power as is evident from the fact that it is the fuel used in 10 percent of Indian power plants. In an energy starved country we need to upgrade our refineries and use it for own good. BTW we have seen a tremendous increase in our crude oil output in the last couple of years and most of the refineries are considering up-gradation.

So seriously guys stop celebrating on these tiny little things, seriously the total exports of naphtha to UAE is less than the cost of your PM's visit to that country. And these news guys need to stop sensationalizing things.

I was just about to write that.

Pakistanis, like other nations, should understand that there are no permanent friends, they are your friends as long as it suit their interests. That's why Pakistanis should realize that if they don't build and advance their nation (and they have great potential in that), no one will help you in that matter either.

Perhaps, refusing to join stupid Yemen war was one of the most important foreign policy decisions Pakistan has ever made in past decade, because for first time imo, it served Pakistan's best interests, while being in contrast to interests of so called 'friends' of Pakistan.

Agreed. I think it will go down in Pakistani history as a significant event. For once we looked after our interests rather than the "ummahs" interests. Also the Arabs will realize fast how wily the Indians are as they will at the first opportunity where a better deal shows up ditch the arabs unlike stupid Pakistanis who have for so long been dragged along in this ummah alliance based on the "ummah" card.

To Pakistanis never forget this insult for which we received no apology

Hope India can also send its troops to battle Houthi rebels in Yemen. Can they meet the demand.?
Fighting and dying for others' cause is reserved for Pakistanis only.

I see more posts about Pak-UAE relations even though this is merely a business deal.

For reference:
Gargash are a prominent Dubai-based family and is a Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
The foreign ministry is held by a Nahyan (Abu Dhabi based; where the seat of power is).

Those who understand UAE and its history would have a clear idea of what's going on.

All this UAE fiasco may provide Indians with few night faps but overall in long term neither would it hurt Pakistan and on the other hand increase our self reliance.
UAE is neither our sole customer and nor are we their slaves who can't survive without their pennies. You don't want us well we don't want you simple as that.
To my Indian fellows Happy Fa**ing.

The Shamsi Airbase leased to the UAE in Balochistan is now a risk. When is Pakistan planning to cancel the lease and take control of the base ?

Shamsi Airfield - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The disused Bhandari Airstrip was leased to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by the Government of Pakistan in 1992 for game hunting, particularly that of falconry and rare Bustards in Balochistan province, by members of the UAE royal families. The airstrip, which was renamed "Shamsi" (meaning "Sunny" in Arabic) by the Emirati Sheikhs, was developed into a jet capable airfield by the UAE.[2]

Only the Arabs, these guys live in a different planet to the rest os us....

Someone's loss is someone else's gain. And who would be that gainer ??

@magudi @Makaramarma You won't like to miss it.
