I was just about to write that.

Pakistanis, like other nations, should understand that there are no permanent friends, they are your friends as long as it suit their interests. That's why Pakistanis should realize that if they don't build and advance their nation (and they have great potential in that), no one will help you in that matter either.

Perhaps, refusing to join stupid Yemen war was one of the most important foreign policy decisions Pakistan has ever made in past decade, because for first time imo, it served Pakistan's best interests, while being in contrast to interests of so called 'friends' of Pakistan.

So the same can be said about Iran too ? ( not that I support desert dwellers)

Will you send your soldiers to the UAE to stifle any rebellion, like Pakistan did in Bahrain? Will you guarantee their rule, by sending military personnel to guard important government sites? Probably not. Will you guarantee their territorial integrity, and involve yourself in a war that involves the Arabs, and (the most likely candidate) Iran? Again, probably not.

This isn't about being weak, India is far stronger than Pakistan, but there are just some things that India cannot and will not provide to the UAE.

Geopolitics is hardly about might makes right.

The same can be said about every single country in the world: That you shouldn't look at other hands to help you, at the end of the road, it's only Pakistan that can help itself, although, you might receive help in the way.

For long, Pakistan has done things that were more in interests of Arab regimes than Pakistan, while they were far away from violence that spilled over to Pakistan after that. Did they come to your help? Not only they didn't, they also wanted to use Pakistani soldiers as cannon fodder in Yemen, which in a wise decision, Pakistan objected and looked after its own interest.

No matter what, even if it comes to Iran, Pakistan should look at its own interests. Though, being neighbors, I believe many of our interests coincide with each other, so we can help each other.

Why are Pakistanis so burnt about this tiny fraction of money stopped by UAE?

Its not like Pakistan is going to stop earning this money (the excess capacity will simply be marketed elsewhere)...and its not like the UAE has taken some step like deporting all existing Pakistan labour and replacing with Indian, drastically shifting a revenue stream for Pakistan and increasing one for India (and at same time having a real long term consequence on both economies in a significant way).

Or is Pakistan afraid thats what's going to happen next?

Some Indian posters also read too much in this recent "cosiness" with UAE.

Till Arab mindset and attitude fundamentally change towards Indians and South Asian people in general....do not feel too happy or satisfied with what UAE seems to be offering theoretically.
