Yayyyyy Modi did it again!
I don't understand why folks across the border start celebrating on these tiny things. Yes our exports are no way near what you guys are exporting but let me put this news in perspective for your.
Pakistan was not exporting any petroleum products since 2007, as actually we had no crude oil to sell. In financial year 2014-15 we exported around 200 million USD worth of a type of crude, mainly because our refineries were not designed to process it. That means it made about 0.8 percent of our total exports.
And guess what UAE is not the only country buying naphtha and other crude oil products from us, do you know the name of another country who does it, its is your beloved India which imported 60 million USD worth of crude last year.
Pakistan resumes crude oil export to India after a decade
And in fact there is debate between the experts in Pakistan that naphtha should never be exported anyway. It can be used to generate power as is evident from the fact that it is the fuel used in 10 percent of Indian power plants. In an energy starved country we need to upgrade our refineries and use it for own good. BTW we have seen a tremendous increase in our crude oil output in the last couple of years and most of the refineries are considering up-gradation.

So seriously guys stop celebrating on these tiny little things, seriously the total exports of naphtha to UAE is less than the cost of your PM's visit to that country. And these news guys need to stop sensationalizing things.
