This angle shows its full length. Looks to be a light the size of the Italian FREMM Frigate (that came to New York for Fleet Week and I got to visit), especially with regards to the helicopter hanger and fantail. If the Z-18 could land on this, then the PLAN will have a much large ASW platform similar to the AW-101 on the Italian FREMM.

Btw, IMHO, this maybe the design the PN Chooses to meet its need for 6 Air defense frigates in the 6000 ton range. But, what adjustments would the PN seek to optimize it for the air defense role? (4 Z-18 AEW variants for deployment to 3 of the ships and holding one in spare would be the first requirement I would assume)

Any estimate on the cost of a Type 054B? IMHO, It would have to be around 2-3 Billion CNY ($285-430 million) to be worth it considering the cost of the Type 052D be at 3.4 Billion CNY at the greater capabilities of the Type 052D.

(In a thread from last year @MH.Yang said the 052D is 3.4 billion CNY (480 million US dollars) And the 055 is 6 billion CNY (850 million US dollars) post # 2742

Video of the launch as well as a good video on the ship and more under construction as well as the potential Z-18 ASW helicopter. If the video is correct, that it doesn’t have much room to grow, it still may be just what the PN needs, IMHO, if it has 48 Universal VLS (with some VLS for quad packing HQ-16F @160 Km) and other cells for longer range AAW missiles, ASW torpedo missiles, and even Babur cruise missiles.

Is the rate of fire of the Chinese 100 mm main gun faster or the same as the following 100 mm gun?

Btw, have the Chinese naval architects considered that Radar and antenna mast arrangement (ahead of the funnel) to be placed on the Type 056A corvette (if coupled with larger FL-3000N Launcher) to create a competitor to the French Gowind 2500 design.

Many smaller navies, that require full spectrum capabilities at the most reasonable price, could consider it.

It could also be a decent upgrade for the PN’s F-22P frigate, if it’s not too too heavy.

The space between the two masts seems larger that that of other frigates or even destroyers. Will this ship carry 16 AShCM similar to the U.S. navy’s upcoming constellation class?

Type 054B is approx. 482 feet x 59 feet (per satellite photos)
While the Constellation is 496 feet x 65 feet

Please not again "Pakistan will accquire that too" - I know you said it a different way, but that's how some will surely interpret it! - "... and then we need!".

IMO let the ship just pass its trials, let it be introduced in PLAN service with the assets planned for - and I'm pretty sure the Z-20 will be overall much better than the Z-18 for ASW - and then we can look if there is some export!
