Very well-informed and educated? Don't make me laugh. He has seen nothing. He is the almighty bluff who used to open posts with the statement that he had just got off the phone from speaking to the PA spokesman - all the way from England.

And our profiles are not even close.
You are just an old timer trying hard to remain relevant, any wonder your own country fellows complaining about your pathetic attitude. Keep up with personal attacks and no doubt in due course you will become extinct.

Stupid is as stupid does fits you amicably.
Now kindly splash your brains and enlighten us with the nonsense you posted.
Albeit i was discussing India/ Pakistan scenario but you couldn't help display your typical mentality of aping others.
Now kindly enlighten us with your nonsensical rant, did i say no other country's assets are visible like India. ?????
After you are done kissing yourself, read my post again.....s...l...o...w...l...y......
The query is in contrast, why do PAF bases look almost deserted.... is that too difficult to understand

I remember there was news about ageing of aircrafts(su 30s) due to long exposure to sun, and the plans to rectify it.. not sure whether they did..

PAF Airbases.

It's rather foolish to compare India and Pakistan by any measure because of the vast differences in geography, threat matrix, purchasing power, population, poltical enviroment etc etc.

Any map of the PAF's airbases will highlight how at risk they are at because of their proximity to the Indian border:

airbases.jpg

The vast majority of PAF bases (even their largest cities) are within standoff munition range in contrast, the Indian air force enjoys signifcant "strategic depth" and thus the vast majority of their airbases are entirely out of reach of any opponant.

The PAF (and Pak military as a whole) has a very defensive mindset and this is reflected in their SOPs.

Why don't you answer the question yourself instead of asking the same question over and over?

Maybe the PAF prefers to take regular naps or long lunches whilst the GE sats fly overhead whilst those industrious bhanyias work through lunch and keep their a/c on the flightline all day until they are put back into their shelters/hangers at the end of the day.

Much ado about nothing.

Done. Land at Pune you will see.

@Abingdonboy Us land blubbers need the air strike once in a while .. was waiting for it

#37 delivered it!

LOL
why was it not done before? I mean its millions of dollar worth hardware... why will you keep it outside in sun unless you are always using it... am sure it does not cost much to make shelters for them

I will ask you more questions in reverse:

1. Why was the Bofors not manufactured when technology transfer was completed along with the 500 FH-77s that we got by 1989? The tech was lying since then.

2. Why was MES contracted to make the hangars for AWACS and the same don't fit into them?

3. Why do we pay money to MUL to remove ACs from Gypsy and then pay Rs 22-25 thousand to install it later?

4. Why do we have 9 mm Carbine till dat, whose ammunition is also now in short supply for training?

5. Why don't we have centrally heated buses in valley for conveyance of troops in winters when there is no additional fuel expenditure in the same, only routing of heat off the engine has to be done?

I can keep listing ... it wont make any sense.

Probably because they have more planes and they are deep inside borders hence no fear of sudden attack.
We have less assets and try to keep them safe from elements as well as prying satellite eyes.
For your last comment even if you don't name them long lat info at the bottom of pics is enough for the wiser ones to find them on net.

I'm sure many of you browse through Google Earth for your own interests. Mine being military aviation , i tend to look out for air bases of India and Pakistan respectively. Although these images i have in my files are up to ten year old, none the less the situation remains same today. What intrigues me is that if you browse over IAF Stations, you will naturally see fighter jets and other aircraft parked around in abundance, but observe PAF airfields, and they look almost deserted, I posed this question to a PAF source who cleverly avoided giving an answer and laughingly asked whether i also noticed that IAF HAS are usually opened from both sides.
Anyways, what's the possible reason for such a contrast between the two sides.
@Oscar @Irfan Baloch @Tipu7 @HRK @DESERT FIGHTER @PARIKRAMA

IAF Stations. ( I will avoid naming them)

Seems you have a short memory dude or just being pure ignorant, the images of IAF stations i posted, majority of them are same that also existed in 1965 and 1971 wars, do touch the history book to understand which air force was more vulnerable and lost most aircraft sitting on the ground.

It touches the lines of being ridiculous when you in desperation come up with beauties beyond belief, like the SU-30 pilot not attacking the ground target because he saw some Black Bucks in the vicinity. :)
And you think that PAF does all the works in the hangars, takes the aircraft out just before a mission and straight back into the hangar....brilliant minds at work or maybe the extensive Veg Thalis are taking their toll and someone doesn't realise when that satellite does it's rounds....well going by your own logic.

, thats correct we have tonnes of depth and need not be bothered about surprise attack. If it is there any we can respond in good measure.
Other than that,

1) India never attacked or invaded pakistan. It was pakistan which raided IAF bases in 1965. As such it seems they want to protect themselves from their own evil design.

2)Second with AWACS near the border, either of them can monitor planes taking of or landing for 50 miles from border. As such there is sufficient warning time for AA batteries to respond or scramble if any of them comes near the border.

Further more using simple logic what makes him think they are real ones but not decoys.
