Saudi King orders cancer treatment for Iranian child

Problem with the 1990 war*, they loved the Iran-Iraq war, goodwill is kicking Americans out of the ME, now the other countries have to follow this example.

Let's just not mix two issues together. Sadam invaded Kuwait and he got what he deserved. No country can undermine the US presence in Europe, South East Asia, and the ME. The US, by definition, is the Empire of the 21st Century.

Khomini's fault was clashing with us, and he paid for it.

I'm not willing to derail this thread any longer, hope the girl recovers soon.

Chao

Saddam did not got what he deserved, the citizens felt the effects while he was in his palace.
Khomeini clashed with us not with you.

ok.

btw, you should say "Iraq got what it deserved" instead of Saddam, the US should be kicked out of the gulf, they are not the friends of any of us but Israel.

Don't propagate it it is good work just do it silently when they will return to iran they will tell temselves

Petty tactics to gain goodwill. If the king really wanted to help someone, he would have done it discreetly. An affair between him, the recipient and god.

This is just petty.

The important thing here is not feeding our egos but the girls health,i hope she gets the best treatment and gets well soon.

Nop that was not my intention, I just want to show how Iran's foreigner policies and diplomatic strategies are affecting the iranian people.

I agree.. she should have been kidnapped secretly and brought in on a stealth plane for treatment.

During treatment she should be kept unconscious for all the years, and once recovered..... should have been, returned to the parents again on a stealth plane. :cuckoo:

You false flaggers never make any sense.... you just criticise for the sake of it.

@Arabian Legend
without the sanctions on Iran, Iran would not had to send her at all.. which is funny I believe GCC support those sanctions they even offered to lower their oil prices for the west just to sanction Iran... and now Saudi "Arabia" want to play the good guy card :hitwall: I can't believe how naive you people are...

You must be kidding, right?
How does a girl being treated in Saudi Arabia has anything to do with Iran's foreign policy? Please stop this Iran hate, and see it as a simple little girl being treated in your country. We appreciate the good gesture and will, but don't make it in to a political case.
Iran, under all these sanctions, already has one of best medical personnel and hospitals in whole ME and Central Asia and many come to Iran for treatment from neighboring countries. This case has nothing to do with 'foreign policy'.

Medical tourism is a very sensitive industry, since health is the greatest asset of any person. There is no doubt that selecting a country as a medical tourism destination is an important process and requires investigation.
WHO (World Health Organization) in its annual report, determine all the factors separately. Some of these factors are financial and about the health care costs; some are related to quality of life, health level, medical infrastructure and expertise in a certain country.
Iran based on WHO’s reports is one of the best places for choosing as a destination for health tourism. For example, total health care cost is 5.7% of GDP which is less than many Europeans countries and US.
Iran with fully-equipped hospitals and friendly doctors and nurses is ready to welcome people all around the world who pursuit to health and wellness.

IRAN: Iran reports earnings of $1.5bn from health tourism in 2012

Manouchehr Jahanian of the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization has stated that Iran hosted 200,000 health tourists in 2012, earning $1.5 billion, a figure more than double 2011.

Last year, more than 4.5 million foreign tourists spent $9 billion in Iran and created jobs for 2.5 million people directly or indirectly. Tourism is up by a million people on 2011; people being attracted by diversified climates as well as numerous tourist and historical attractions.

Most health tourists were from Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Iraq, Turkey, Kuwait, Oman, India and Pakistan. These include medical tourists as well as health and spa tourists.

The number of Omani nationals visiting Iran for medical tourism is on the rise with around 5,000 Omanis seeking treatment in the country every year, according to the Iranian Embassy.

Medical tourists from neighbouring states mostly come for transplants, ophthalmology, orthopedics and dentistry.

Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO), has conducted studies that suggest the best targets are Iraq, Afghanistan, Persian Gulf states, Central Asian nations and Iranians residing abroad.

In 2012 Iran launched new plans to expand medical tourism in the region. The Health Tourism Committee has been formed in collaboration with representatives of Foreign Ministry, Iran Medical Organization, Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization, and the Commercial Chamber of Health Ministry.

The government is planning a new health tourism law that will regulate who can offer medical tourism-60 hospitals have indicated interest.

Pressure continues to mount on Iran over its nuclear programme; and the presence of US and EU warships off the coast, is hardly conducive to attracting American or European medical tourists.

Thats a nice gesture.
But why make news out of it? I think if you want to do a good charitable deed, it should not be used as a badge of honor.

Maybe reading to much into it. Could be a goodwill or symbolic gesture to better relations. Lets hope Iran and Saudi Arabia can solve their problems diplomatically and establish more cordial ties.

@Serpentine Maybe the lack of medical supplies due the sanctions was behind that.

I don't know what's the reason behind it,maybe she was in KSA with here family for Hajj when hospitalized or maybe it's because of lack of medicine, but even then, Iran can not be blamed. They wanna put sanctions on Iran? no problem, but why sanctions on medical supplies? That's inhumane and barbaric.
Anyway, this is a normal case, if a Saudi citizen came to Iran for treatment, we wouldn't deport him back! That's what humanity is all about, separating political issues from human relations. I still appreciate the gesture and welcome it and beyond all of that, I want my country to have better relation with KSA and other Arab states, despite political and religious differences. Tbqh, some of our fights are really stupid.
