Renaissance of Bengali Hindu and the Subversion"

You are arguing with boys in khaki shorts. Its a futile attempt. You can't argue with Hindu fundamentalists same way as you can't argue with Talibans. Its a mind thats closed with key thrown away. These guys hate Muslims. When someone give you "Gujarat Riots: The True Story" as a source you should get the idea.

You can see the disdain they have for the dead of those riots. Mention 26/11 to these guys, they will cry you a river. These are sociopaths.

You first need to get down of your moral high horse. Your country has enough religious nutjobs which is evident in this very forum. We don't judge Bangladeshis by how you treat your Hindu citizens. Have the same decency when you talk about Indians. You guys are just a confused bunch who are filled with hate for the Hindus but faced a genocide not at the hands of Hindus but by your own muslim brothers. Your confusion is still evident in your politics.

Talking about sociopaths, a person who thinks it is appropriate to add a smiley after talking about a gruesome death of a pregnant woman would be the most deserved candidate for that title.

Muslim are Muslims and Hindus are Hindus and Christians are Christians, but if they are from Bengal, they are Bengalis.

What if Islam told us to be muslim first then something else and secondly we are Bangladeshi muslim.

In countries like Pakistan on the other hand - there is a persecution - i.e. the state has laws which pretty much make non-Muslims second class citizens. Of course Bengali culture on both sides is predominantly of the Hindu variety - this is apparent in the dress, in the script of the Bengali language and various other habits. Does this make the Bangladeshis any less Muslim? Well, I don't think so - but the Pakistanis certainly did - that is why they tried to force Urdu down the throats of Banglas with disastrous results. That language issue was the first nail in the coffin of united Pakistan. Today Pakistanis are now talking about not celebrating Basant - calling it a Hindu festival. It is their country and it is their business - but if they want to shun their own culture in the name of religion, let them do so. Bangladesh is secular, I hope it remains so.
Is it nesesity to bring Pakistan in every discussion?
Going by your logic Pakistani government also force urdu down the thoarts of west pakistani since they spoke other lanuage and it is none of concern how pakistani go about their life.

Lastly, Bangladesh is not secular my friend!

The difference is acceptance. Hindi is a North Indian language but in states like Rajasthan and Gujarat, people accepted it as main language while states in the South did not - mostly because the difference was too vast to bridge. Ditto is the case for Bengali and Urdu. Being East Pakistan is as much a part of the region today known as Bangladesh as being East Bengal is. There is no way, one must not consider it.

And of course Bangladesh is secular -

I am not much of a cowboy. My point is about total indifference to the dead and in many cases outrageous excuses supporting the killings displayed by these posters. I am not painting every Indian posters with this brush.

It's not garbage and you know it .....although it has its aggressiveness which could have been avoided. There are reasons which resulted in the destruction Greater Bangla. Now you guys think of it in terms of India and we think of it in terms of Bangla which unfortunately would not change in either sides.

Honestly it was bull sh!t and pretty poorly articulated, I hope not this is the standard of Bangladesh literary milieu!

@ Abir,
Do you mean the piece written by Maj. Agha Humayun Amin? It is quite interesting and worthy of a good read!

Yeah capt, it's indeed a good read, although you're throwing the pearls of wisdom at wrong guys.

What idea does that give you ?? That is wrong to burst that little bubble blown up by your Jamaati media ? Did you even read inside it as it mostly quotes form various weeklies and newspapers from that time and the report of the doctor who did the Post mortem on that victim.

Get a life, looser. And yeah, no one wants your sympathy for 26/11.Save that for your people who are even willing to face bullets to cross over into India.

As for us being sociopaths, I guess then the guy who added a smiley for an imaginery incident must be then a delusional psychopath.

Mir Jafar was a Arab. He was not a Bengali neither Jagat Shet(Marwari) was. All Bengalis faught against british, Hindus and Muslim alike.

Anyone who had domiciled in Bengal during historical times became permanent residents of Bengal or other parts of Hindustan. Mir Zafar was basically a Persian. Nawab Siraj-ud-Dowlah and Alivardy Khan all were also Persians by root. But, Bengal or Hindustan was their adopted land.

Will it be valid if someone claim that George Bush is a British, President Kennedy was an Irish and Obama is an African, and no one is actually American? In Bengal also, no such distinction is applicable.

Numerous number of foreign blooded muslims immigrated to Bengal and became its permanent residents since after Bakhtiar and his Turkic people domiciled in Bengal. Why are you making distinctions of these people as arab or Turki or Marwari?

Did these immigrant muslims or Hindus jumped into the Bay of Bengal or their descendents are still living here? Note that until Siraj all those who happened to rule Bengal since 1203, during muslim time, adopted Bengal as their home country and became Bangali. All their retinues also adopted Bengal as their native country.

I will be surprised if you can cite the name of only one muslim ruler of Bengal who himself or his forefathers were not foreigners. It is not necessary to establish Bangalism even by distorting history.

Mir Zafar was Iraqi desent Arab however Nawab Siraj-ud-Dowlah was Persian desent. Correct me if I am wrong.

The bharatis misuse this word "bengali" whenever they need to twist the reality whereas the reality is people of Bangladeshi prefer to call themselves Bangladeshis than Indianiazed version of being "bengali"
