Mozena Visiting Delhi

Mozena and US could not convince KZ. India advised Mozena to talk to China to convince KZ. That is first reason.

By consulting Indian policy makers on Bangladesh matter US exposed its position that they operate Bangladesh policy with Delhi's consent. Which essentially shows US has relegated Bangladesh as indian subservient as oppose to treating as an independent country. Mozena by going to China trying to put a deceptive mask that US also talk to China about Bangladesh. This is second reason.

US and India had been working against Chinese and Bangladesh interest for that matter. In last 5 years, deep sea port and Bangladesh eastward connectivity were put in the cold storage according to indian advise. Chinese policymakers are not naive, they will be asking why should we entertain US and Indian interest by harming ours??

KZ on the other hand needs to listen to voice of the street not these US, sushils and awami media echo chambers.

I pretty much agree with this assessment with some caveats. USA do not operate with Delhi's consent, rather USA cooperates with India-Japan-Australia under its Pivot to Asia plan to counter Chinese influence in this region, starting from Bangladesh to all of South East Asia. And I agree that Khaleda Zia should pay no attention to these two Ambassadors, rather she should address the concerns of Bangladeshi voters only.

I kept saying from the very beginning. Small, and resource-poor countries like Bangladesh are hardly consequential to US policy-making.

But still I have never heard US outsourcing its foreign policy for one country to another regional power. Its true that India has taken US on board in screwing BD since 2007 but look at SL for eg. Yes it doesn't have a Indian dalal gov and US is forced to have a independent SL policy. Even puny maldives is standing up to Indian nose-poking. The problem with BD is awami maggots. Small countries also matters provided they are not ruled by dalals. The damage AL has done like the pilkhana massacre and all, have long term implications for BD. It will take decades to come out of the shit hole awami maggots dropped us in provided AL is ousted from power this time around.

As a superpower, the US is busy. Especially in their little humanitarian missions in the Middle East and Afghanistan. They don't necessarily have to solve complex issues in small countries like Bangladesh as long as they get what they want. In fact, they don't really care about India at all. They'd be more than happy to see the Pakistanis use American weapons to lay waste to Indians.

The so-called "beacon of democracy" would gladly put up with dictatorships as long as they serve their interests. We looked at Saddam Hussein of Iraq. Look at all those despotic Arab states flying fancy US military hardware. Not a single one of them are a democracy.

Maldives, Bhutan, Nepal and Sri Lanka do not have complex and festering issues that Bangladesh has. Interestingly, I suspect Afghanistan would face similar issues by starting from scratch, and trying being a part of globalization. You name it, corrupt draconian leadership, high unemployment, and stories of untold depression will unfold. And of-course, they receive a lot of aid, much of which are actually not utilized to solve the problem they were meant to in the first place. Usually, diverting back to wherever they came from through greasy hands.

And as long as that......"progress" begins to unfold, that'd give the Afghan Taliban a hand or two. And that's what'd keep the US busy for a long, long time. It's been how long? 10 years? lol....and India along with other regional neighbors and powers like Russia understand that very well. And let's not forget the iconic amounts of resources involved in raising the Afghan army from scratch.

Americans can generally be a very careless people, Luffy. And often get away with it with no clue as to the ramifications of that carelessness. A fatal flaw in American psyche. If they are ever going to go down as a superpower, it'd be due to that particular flaw. That's one reason why they cannot be counted upon entirely. A half-hearted commitment toward saving Yunus and Grameen Bank don't prove anything.

Coming back to Bangladesh, none of the "civilized" nations are really interested in solving the political problems for Bangladeshis. I mean, why should they right? Bangladeshis are on their own on this one. And it'd be a perilous journey. The will of the people counts here. Freedom don't come free as they say. The facts are out there. Hasina lied about Sohel Rana in front of the ENTIRE world. And she lied about 100% enrollment among school age children. Among other things. Apart from a bunch of Awami fanboys, nobody with even an ounce of brain would be fooled by that.

The way she disrespected the nation by treating her own people as idiots will cost her dearly. It's only a matter of time. The Americans won't be able to do crap, but instead only repeat the exact same mistake as they did in 71'. See? They are careless.

very well thought out analysis , couldn't have said it any better myself

One of the pre condition for superpower is having ability to tackle multiple fronts at once, be that military, political or diplomatic. That being said, US policy on Bangladesh falls under regional context NOT in global context; what you have missed to recognize. While US may not care about who runs Bangladesh so long their interest is served but they do care if those people will listen to them. Even more important US taking indian consent or "coordinate" with india on Bangladesh matter is now exposed in the open. Otherwise Mozena did not have to go Delhi to convince Indians on their thinking, US would have made its own decision.

Mozena's current boss Nisha Desai Biswal, Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs, is from Indian descent and it is not hard to see how things will be rolling for him and for Bangladesh policy. Specially when Bangladesh level policy hardly gets to secretary of state level attention.

I know that they have multiple fronts! But a small country with no resources and with complex issues just do not interest them. Add two fat chicks engaging in village politics in that! Bangladesh does not pose any security threat to them either. They'll buy whatever an Indian may tell them as long as it meets their regional interests, which is a part of their global strategy.

You know that they simply cannot and will not ignore the threat posed by China. And neither would India. And that's where their interests intersect. But then, if things don't go their way, they'll simply pack up and run away just like they did in 71', leaving behind an unfinished war (another fatal flaw of their's). They don't care about India either. They are a means to their end.

That being said, they are a very careless people. And you should know that better than me.

USA has regional plans, idune is correct. India is included in that plan. Superpower like the US always has plans for every region on the planet, everything has to be their way, "my way or the high way". That is the job of the State Dept. professionals, this is what they are thinking about and working on everyday. So it is incorrect to say they are careless. They however are incompetent dumb f$&ks and put people of Indian descent in critical state dept. policy making positions. A Chinese, Japanese or Korean for example will never make this kind of blunder for a 1000 years. Anyway, we have to deal with this nuisance dumb a$$ people for just a few more decades, then this domination business will be finally over.

1. The consistent goal of the Yankees is to create create trouble spots so that they can fish in troubled waters. Whether Palestine or Kashmir or elsewhere, she has ensured there is no solution. We in BD must be careful not to allow the Americans to get involved too deep.

2. Mozena hasn't talked much in public about his Delhi visit. But the visitation itself is proof enough - if that were required, that the Americans want to operate in BD through the Indians.Apparently the response he has received in Delhi hasn't been positive. He would have asked Delhi to pursue SHW to a compromise. The Indians wouldn't have agreed. SHW is their last straw.

3. We do not hear anymore of Mozena visiting Beijing. Instead he is going off to Washington DC for "about" 15 days. I have highlighted the word "about" because such an important man is leaving his post at this juncture without a definite schedule.
