But still I have never heard US outsourcing its foreign policy for one country to another regional power. Its true that India has taken US on board in screwing BD since 2007 but look at SL for eg. Yes it doesn't have a Indian dalal gov and US is forced to have a independent SL policy. Even puny maldives is standing up to Indian nose-poking. The problem with BD is awami maggots. Small countries also matters provided they are not ruled by dalals. The damage AL has done like the pilkhana massacre and all, have long term implications for BD. It will take decades to come out of the shit hole awami maggots dropped us in provided AL is ousted from power this time around.
As a superpower, the US is busy. Especially in their little humanitarian missions in the Middle East and Afghanistan. They don't necessarily have to solve complex issues in small countries like Bangladesh as long as they get what they want. In fact, they don't really care about India at all. They'd be more than happy to see the Pakistanis use American weapons to lay waste to Indians.
The so-called "beacon of democracy" would gladly put up with dictatorships as long as they serve their interests. We looked at Saddam Hussein of Iraq. Look at all those despotic Arab states flying fancy US military hardware. Not a single one of them are a democracy.
Maldives, Bhutan, Nepal and Sri Lanka do not have complex and festering issues that Bangladesh has. Interestingly, I suspect Afghanistan would face similar issues by starting from scratch, and trying being a part of globalization. You name it, corrupt draconian leadership, high unemployment, and stories of untold depression will unfold. And of-course, they receive a lot of aid, much of which are actually not utilized to solve the problem they were meant to in the first place. Usually, diverting back to wherever they came from through greasy hands.
And as long as that......"progress" begins to unfold, that'd give the Afghan Taliban a hand or two. And that's what'd keep the US busy for a long, long time. It's been how long? 10 years? lol....and India along with other regional neighbors and powers like Russia understand that very well. And let's not forget the iconic amounts of resources involved in raising the Afghan army from scratch.
Americans can generally be a very careless people, Luffy. And often get away with it with no clue as to the ramifications of that carelessness. A fatal flaw in American psyche. If they are ever going to go down as a superpower, it'd be due to that particular flaw. That's one reason why they cannot be counted upon entirely. A half-hearted commitment toward saving Yunus and Grameen Bank don't prove anything.
Coming back to Bangladesh, none of the "civilized" nations are really interested in solving the political problems for Bangladeshis. I mean, why should they right? Bangladeshis are on their own on this one. And it'd be a perilous journey. The will of the people counts here. Freedom don't come free as they say. The facts are out there. Hasina lied about Sohel Rana in front of the ENTIRE world. And she lied about 100% enrollment among school age children. Among other things. Apart from a bunch of Awami fanboys, nobody with even an ounce of brain would be fooled by that.
The way she disrespected the nation by treating her own people as idiots will cost her dearly. It's only a matter of time. The Americans won't be able to do crap, but instead only repeat the exact same mistake as they did in 71'. See? They are careless.
