It is unfortunately already failed.

In which non-failed country Model Town Massacre can happen and no one knows who killed who?

We like to believe things will change - they will not unless NET crumbles.

you remember Sharukh Jatoi case, when he was sentenced to death he came out of court with a smirk & waving victory sign, i was upset about it for days & same happened here after panama verdict, darbaris shamelessly making victory signs & PM of Islamic Republic of Pakistan eating sweets after being declared dishonest & corrupt ..... cuz he know that investigative institutions are in his pocket !!

Musharraf said,"Pakistan ka ALLAH hi Hafiz hai"

Musharraf was not good for Pakistan and made mistakes that cost us a lot but considering this rotten and corrupt to the hilt dummy who discards the two nation theory while in India and doesn't the know the difference between Bhagwan and Allah - Musharraf might be considered a saint in comparison to NS.

Entire noon toon is like blind dimwit leading the other blind dimwit - sans any reading nor thinking.

It's not gonna change unless people come outside and grab corrupt status quo from their necks. Put belts. Tighten them up boys!

DG ISI also minting $$$$$.

Sub bikau mal hai.

But how ... 70% populations in villages has no awareness of their rights ... for them if chudhry or vadera is even giving them right to live is a great act of kindness ... even in cities majority of population is living below poverty earn living on daily basis ... the only hope is middle class but te issue with middle class they dont have resources ...

There was a point of time at the time of mustafa kamal i was expecting that MQM if keep going in right direction than it could be a game changer but Altaf Hussain bastard destroyed the only party that had roots in middle class ...

Jamat.e.islami also have some roots in middle class but they have confined themselves to religious people and hence seriously lack talent ... and even talented religious people dont consider jamat.e.islami as party that can challenge the system like dr. Israr Ahmed left ...

We need a leader out of masses ... honest and true ... who understand the grond realities ... imran khan is good but he lacks understanding of ground realities ... and his team is same ... i.e. same rulling elite ...

Classic case of two similar countries with pretty much similar issues was India and Pakistan. We like or not; Jawaharlal Nehru's role was critical in cementing India as Nation, our bad luck was losing every leader that had vision in Pakistan's infancy.

And if feudalism was not enough menace that we went the path of religious fundamentalism courtesy Mard e Momin Mard e Haq (Noon Toon supporters add Rehmatulalimeen as their leader used to describe his role model) in first term of test tube baby of Zia's Martial Law blueprints of institutional destruction was crafted and carried out to install corruption to the grassroots level so they can get away with anything they do.

Now every institution; is rotten to the core and there is no way that incremental overhaul can be done as there will be resistance points at every level.

If you know that in Punjab secretariat in lower mall the peon in revenue dept rate is Rs.500,000; and Hamza controls every job. Now imagine if I give that bribe and have a family of four to support, what do you think my planned ROI would be - I would have to get that 500,000 back asap as it most probably would be a loan from some relative or commercial lender. You can magnify and expand it at higher level and whole string till Secretary Rev to Chief Secretary.

So when you want your file to be moved; the bribe gets distributed according to your grade and role at determined formula.

As far elections are concerned in rural areas; the hari living on landlords lands is still living in barter trade era where his services are paid in wheat/barley - if you want to experience it yourself; then do visit any National Assembly constituency south of Okara and see how farmers are exploited to hilt and how their future generations are entrenched in bonded labour.

Shackles of this vicious corruption cannot be broken by IK alone at all. And rest you know are all parties and beneficiaries of the systems I have explained above. So you can determine the chances of improvement in Pakistan yourself.

LAHORE: A Railway Police team allegedly took five students into custody and tortured them for chanting an anti-government slogan during the concluding ceremony of the Pakistan Railways (PR) Inter-Divisional Athletics Championship at Garhi Shahu Stadium on Saturday.

Minister for Railways Khwaja Saad Rafique was distributing medals and shields among the winners of the annual meet when a group of participants started chanting ‘Go Nawaz go’ slogan. The minister left the stadium hurriedly while men in police uniform randomly picked up five boys, bundled them into a van and sped away.

Denying that they had taken into custody Shakeel, Ali, Fatehullah, Navaid and Aitzaz -- all studying in railways educational institutions at Karachi -- the Railway police said the boys were taken away to an undisclosed location by the Garhi Shahu police.

An officer at the Garhi Shahu police station said the railway stadium did not fall in their jurisdiction. “No official of Garhi Shahu police station was on duty at the stadium,” said the official who wished not to be named as he was not authorised to speak to the media.

Railways Director-General Public Relations Najam Wali Khan later told a private TV channel that the boys were taken into custody but were released afterwards on a direction by Khwaja Saad Rafique.

Some channels reported that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif himself ordered that the boys be released.

One of the arrested boys told Dawn that they were nabbed on the directions of Saad Rafique by Railway Police Deputy Inspector-General Shariq Jamal.

“We were treated like criminals while being taken from the stadium to Mughalpura station of Railway police. Officials at the police station gave us a sound beating while telling that we were arrested on the orders of the minister and that DIG Shariq Jamal Sahib was coming to himself register a case against us. They continued torturing and hurling threats on us even after receiving orders for our release,” said the boy who requested anonymity.

DIG Shariq Jamal did not respond to the calls and the SMS sent to him for knowing his stance.

A railway police official later said the boys were released on the orders of the minister.

We deserve such treatment ... we like to be subject of king Sharif ... if we would have been an honorable nation then police should have been given a good beat for such criminal act ... but irony is those who are goven the job of implementing law are the ripping it a part ...

However, if things keep on moving like this than sooner or later Pakistan will move towards anarchy and civil war ...

The judgment

Capital suggestion

The judgment begins by “the popular 1969 novel, ‘The Godfather’” and then quotes, “Behind every great fortune there is a crime”. The judgment then goes on to state: “It is ironical and sheer coincidence that the present case revolves around that very sentence…..”

Personalities that were in the minds of the lordships: The name ‘Nawaz’ appears 235 times and ‘Thani’ (the Qatari prince) appears 123 times. Next is ‘Hussain’ 111 times, ‘Hassan’ 43 times and ‘Maryam’ 24 times (so ‘Maryam’ really wasn’t that much in the minds of the lordships). The lordships did not forget ‘Ishaq’ and that name appears 23 times. The lordships did not forget ‘Shahbaz’ either but that name appears only 14 times. Interestingly, the word ‘Samdhi’ appears five times.

Other things that were in the minds of the lordships: ‘Properties’ have really been in the minds of the judges as the word appears 483 times. ‘London’, ‘Qatar’, ‘Jeddah’ and ‘Panama’ have really been in the minds of the lordships as they appear 333, 192, 109 and 60 times, respectively. ‘Offshore’ has also been in the minds of the lordships as it appears 96 times, ‘money’ 195 times, ‘corruption’ 107 times and ‘laundering’ 57 times. Yes, ‘television’ has also been in the minds of the lordships as it has been mentioned 33 times.

Intriguingly, the term ‘bogus’ appears five times. First instance: “I may, therefore, be justified in observing that either the copy of the Tripartite Sale Agreement produced before Court is bogus or the affidavit attributed to Mr Tariq Shafi is not genuine”. Regarding the letter from the Qatari prince the judgment states: “In our opinion, the document is bogus, has no legal or evidentiary value and we have no hesitation in outrightly rejecting it.”

Yes, ‘Hudaibiya’ was mentioned five times and that may push the finance minister into an awkward corner-approver or accused? The good news for the PM is that Maryam Nawaz has come out relatively clean but the PM’s legal-cum-moral trial and tribulations continue. The three judges who did not disqualify him have actually added truckloads of difficulties to the PM’s existing stock of anxieties.

For the next 60 days, the PM’s future will revolve around the JIT, a term that has been mentioned 32 times. Yes, JIT’s have a checkered history but the lordships have now sucked in the generals and put them on trial as well. For the record, the lordships were definitely thinking about the ‘army’ and the ‘military’ as the two terms were mentioned 16 times each.

Legal anxieties aside, the PTI and the PPP are going to raise the political temperature both inside and outside the National Assembly and the Senate. The PM is heading into political isolation with Maulana Fazlur Rahman as his only political ally. This could send the wrong message to the five-dozen electables who routinely win in the all-important 148 constituencies that lie between Rawalpindi and Rahim Yar Khan.

The three-time prime minister is now up against three fronts: the JIT, unprecedented political isolation and the losing battle against loadshedding. The only defence against the JIT: a policy of strategic delay.

I honestly dont know...what needs to be done? Our elite is full of NRO loving ppl... There are very few, ppl at the top, who have the will, courage and integrity to challenge the status quo... We can only pray and hope tht there are more ppl with integtrity and courage of Justice Khosa and Justice Gulzar in our power circles....but only a miracle can do tht.. So in short, we can do nothing, except hoping for a miracle...

Miracles dont happen in real life ...

As I said..not every one is purchasable... They are very few such ppl in our society....

Yes, very few.. 1 in 10000.

@PakSword aap dawn leaks par army act ke under arrest ki baat karrahay thay..aur yahan suna hai ke tariq fatmi, jinhein escapegoat banaaya jaaraha tha...woh bhi mulk chor kar jaa chukay hain full protocol ke saath... Main ne aap se kaha tha na, ke dawn leaks par compromise hogaya hai.. Army act ko tu chorein..woh report release karnay se pehley hi tariq fatmi ko mulk se bahar bhej diya hai,..taakay woh kisi aur ka naam bhi na le sakay.l if this isnt a compromise then what else is? Is se tu acha tha ke MI, ISI ke log dawn leaks report main dissenting notes likh dete....atleast unke instituition ki tu dignity reh jaati... Itna obvious NRO?

I was wrong when I said PA couldn't do compromise on this one as officers' pressure in too much in this case..

This case is creating a sense of helplessness in Army ranks, and I am telling you this with 100 % surety.. Our leadership is taking us to a very dangerous place, coming back from where is extremely difficult if not impossible.

@PakSword @Guvera @QatariPrince @mingle

Justice Wajihuddin says tht new bench will be constituted, just to monitor the JIT..after every two weeks....... After JIT completes its work...its report will be brought before the same panama bench, tht heard this case till now... He says..findings of JIT, will not be final or legally binding..and judges will have authroity to even reject the findings of JIT......

Anchor again asked...tht when JIT completes its work..will it come before the same panama bench..tht heard this case till now? Theres some confusion regd it... But he said...yes..this is what happens in such cases.... There are many such precedents..he used a special legal word fpr such type of cases. (Part heard....? ) He even gave example of Justice Anwar Jamali's bench..tht it said ..tht we are completely dissolving the bench..and will not treat this case, further as (part heard..?) but here theres no such thing..and same bench will hear the case, after JIT brings its report

Heard the same.. This is only a monitoring bench for JIT.

And I am telling you the decision by the rest of the three judges.. after JIT submits its report, will be that the record of 30-40 years back can't be validated. Benefit of the doubt will take its seat and NS will come clean forever.

There was enough evidence regd PM, not being sadiq / Ameen...and judges could give decision on tht, just like 2 judges have done... But majority judges gave weird explanations regd tht...whether article 62 deals with legal honesty or moral honesty???:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: As if a PM being morally dishonest is ok...and theres no problem with it..and nobody can challenge him??

It's like smoking CAPTAIN cigarette is not fine, but MARLBORO is completely healthy..

I just completed reading judgment of Advocate Ijaz Afzal..and to say the least, I am extremely shocked at his verdict.. It appears..as if his only motive in his verdict to try to use as many technicalities and loopholes in the law, in Nawaz Sharif's favor... He gives weird logics and explainations....

I read some of his judgment and felt nausea.. So stopped reading it.. You should not read his complete judgment.

We can only pray and hope tht there are more ppl with integtrity and courage of Justice Khosa and Justice Gulzar in our power circles....

I don't think we will see even one in 10000 after a few years time.. looking at how our public service examinations are conducted and how the existing officers are promoted.
