I bet if Su-15 got a better radar and if it had gotten a mid life upgrade with latest Avionics, it would kick the grand son of MiG-21, the JF-17, out of the sky.

Sukhoi-11 and Sukhoi-15 rules!! :D

JF-17 is more than 50 years old! Even older than LCA. JF-17 is an offshoot of a 2nd generation 1950s MiG-21 aircraft.

Pakistan, meanwhile, required a new fighter to replace its fleet of Dassault Mirage III/5s, Chengdu F-7s, and Nanchang A-5s.[27] In 1995, Pakistan and China signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for joint design and development of a new fighter, and over the next few years, the two countries worked out the project details.[28] In June 1995, Mikoyan joined the project to provide "design support" and had "seconded a team of engineers to CAC."[29]

So the time between beginning of the project in 1995 and the first flight of JFT in 2004 are 50 years in your math ? :azn: ... Super 7 and Project Sabre II were cancelled , today's JFT bears not even remote resemblance to either Mig 21 or any other make.believe Russian air craft you have in mind ... Every air craft inherit something from some design from an earlier one , that is an norm around the world ... Mirage project's expertise was used for the Rafale ... Similar is the case with both F16's and Raptor ... Or otherwise going by your logic , I can safely conclude the LCA to be started from HAL Marut ? :D

I wonder what is that "Super-7" label doing on the JF-17. All they did was change name from Super-7 to FC-1 and JF-17. So many names for a CHEAP fighter.

And please post an evolutionary chart from Marut to LCA. dummkopf

Dude you have every right to upset regarding your failed LCA Tojes but don't insult yourself by comparing an unfinished bird (hell it didn't even pass the IOC trails) with our successful, operational and state of the art JF-17 Thaandar. :D

IAF is just waiting for the right moment to cancel this LCA project and the moment is when they will get Rafales and some Pak-Fa.

Your Thaandar is a pice of crap by IAF standards. IAF would have cancelled the JF-17 project long ago if ADA and HAL ever came up with it. JF-17 is lucky it got adopted by an impoverised airforce like the PAF.

Yes i know IAF poor standards very well just look at the performance of LCA in IOC-1.

Since the Project Sabre II ( Super 7 ) which was meant as a replacement of F-7 never saw the light of the day and got cancelled even before the production of a single aircraft due to US sanctions and stopped assistance from Northrop , the picture is photoshopped and fake :azn: What resemblance is there between JFT and F-7 ? Start it from the beginning , kid ...

Which is why it is still not inducted brainiac. While PAF is happy with a fighter IAF would have spat on.

Photoshopped and fake? hahahaha! Is that the best defence you can come up with. That pic was one of the first pics to come out of JF-17 called super-7 then. Some Pakistanis are so hilarious.

Yeah , they are happy flying the coffins known as Mig 21's right ?

Yes , PS and fake , not a single improved F-7 was produced because the western consultants backed out , so how can it be a Super 7 ? :azn:

If it is photoshpped post the real pic. Where is the real pic??? In your wet dreams??

That is a popular one of the first pics of JF-17.

No, we are retiring our MiG-21s while you are inducting brand new Mig-21 offshoots which will become your flying coffin after they get old.

I bet now he will say China daily is photoshopping pics and there is a conspiracy against PAF by China Daily.

Spark , the Super 7 was meant to be a improved version F-7M with consultations from western companies however it was cancelled out because of the sanctions against Pakistan and China ... Not a single aircraft was produced ... It is possible that China Daily made an error in the reporting since I cant find any other pic like that mistaking FC1 project for Super 7 ... Is JFT even remotely close in design to F-7 ?

Retiring it with what ? :azn: ... Brand new Mig 21 ? If you find any similarity between F-7 and JFT , then its about time you get checked by an eye specialist ...

Enlighten yourself ...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chengdu_J-7#Variants

Super-7 did away with British upgrades to the F-7M in the mid-1980s. After a successful deal with Chinese in the early 1980s resulting in the F-7M, the United Kingdom offered a further upgrade to improve the performance of the F-7M by adopting either General Electric F404 or Pratt & Whitney PW 1120 turbofan engines. The radar options would include the Red Fox, a repackaged version of the Blue Fox radar used on Sea Harrier FRS Mk 1, or the Emerson AN/APG-69. Although radar tests were successful, the upgrade was rejected before any engine tests, because a single radar or a single engine had cost more than a new J-7 (2 million United States Dollars, 1984 price). The name, Super-7, however, was retained to be used for the FC-1 / JF-17 light-weight fighter.
