Japanese warship arrives Vietnam

Troops from Japan, the United States, and Australia have arrived in Vietnam for defense exchanges with local forces.

The transport vessel Kunisaki of Japan's Maritime Self-Defense Force arrived at a port in the central Vietnamese city of Da Nang on Friday.

It carried about 190 personnel from the Self-Defense Forces, as well as 140 troops from the US and Australia.

The visit is part of the US-led annual humanitarian mission called Pacific Partnership, which aims to promote defense exchanges with Southeast Asian nations.

The troops from the 3 countries began 10 days of activities with their Vietnamese counterparts, including medical services and sports, to strengthen cooperation.

The exchanges come amid rising tension between Vietnam and China over a territorial dispute in the South China Sea.

It is certainly a nightmare for chinese.

First, all Japanese combat vessels uses old radars that have since been passed by Chinese radars on the 52D and C. As well, as several European powers and the US.

Second, most Japanese vessels are based more or less on the American Aegis, but then again so is the Chinese one.
So thank the Americans for that design.

Third, Japanese ships by design and constitution are defensive ships, meaning anti ship, anti air, anti missile, but no ground attack capabilities and even its AEGIS systems are stripped, as well as its fighters by the Americans to need American ships by it's side for it to work effectively or at all in an offensive capacity.

Fourth and most importantly, American strategy on the seas require all AMERICAN resources, most of which the Japanese doesn't have. In other words, Japan can't even fight properly without the US, even if all its systems are not stripped, which it is.

EX would be drones, satellite(Military version), missiles, nuclear subs, air power, and more.....

Having said that, the Japanese navy is quite strong, in an all out battle, we would still win, but with heavy loses. What we are doing now is to reduce loses, with each passing year, we are reducing loses on our side and increasing it on theirs.


Japan will not come to Vietnam's aid, they know they will take heavy casualties win or lose, and would Japan do it for Vietnam? If you follow Japan, you know despite all the sabre rattles, Abe cares about his economy first and foremost. To put it bluntly, he would defend China before he attack it. Japan needs economy not a victory.

how exactly do we copy? Does America let us take a look? If we were just copying why did we scrap plans to build a 10,000 ton ship some 25 or so years ago.

America is embargoing us and Russian ships are no where near their quality.


At best, we know more or less what the American ships can do and what ours should be able to do, that's about it.


We put billions into research, you can even see it from the type 52 series, new technology each step of the way, if we just copied, why do we need to do that, why not just one time and perfect.


Your inferiority complex has blinded you, if you ever decide to look at things objectively, you would see, there is no way to copy, there are thousands of systems on a ship, it's not a doll that you can just look at the outside and copy. These things are so complicated, even the length of the hallways are an important part.

Hence Vietnam can't even build a 1000 ton corvette, while we can build a 12,000 ton DDG and a 10,000 coast guard ship, cause we poured hundreds of billions into research and decades of research.

That's interesting cause Russia doesn't have AEGIS. Nor is ours actually AEGIS. So Russians designed a missile for a system they don't have and used on a ship that also don't have the same system?

It's a missile not a windshield wiper, you can't just stick whatever you want on it. Too many things needs to be taken into account before it can be even considered.

Also even Americans don't go the copied route for our ships anymore. Since you like Uncle Sam so much perhaps you should follow suit.
