We all know how women are treated after their husbands die in Hinduism, but that is for another debate. Islam puts those women on same level as any other woman, eliminating prostitution and many other problems.

Although this used to happens centuries ago it is now limited to orthodox villages....Most of the Hindus now belong to reformist movements and support widow remarriage..

The discussion started when an Indian said that no one visits Pakistan due to bomb blasts which is indeed a rightful reason but ironicaly the foreigners now reluctant to visit India due to rapes.

so its funny that Indians come up with rants against Pakistan but failed to give protection to forigners even in peace time. The moral of the story is that Pakistan is doing better even in bomb blasts

No Sir/Ma'am, the discussion started when a Pakistani guy, Mr. Icewolf - started the topic of rape and blasting and defaming India. The topic was started as a good gesture but it's going the same derogatory way, like several other India Pakistan threads go. Really fail to understand why some people are so naive.

Pragmatic reall politics does not mean losing moral fiber and sense of humanity. Do you know why Saladin is spoken of highly in Europe? He was not only victorious but also chivalrous.

How wonderful .......... let us send some more dossiers over to pakistan ......maybe maun mohan singh will get noble prize. Nothing more important that white mans approval.

what is a couple of dead Indians anyway......we need to protest only when white Italians shoot 2 fisherman. Pakistanis being our 'brothers' gets a free hand to kill Indians so that we can demostate or 'moral fiber' and 'sence of humaity' for the terrorist.

Well, great to know situation has been improved. I will not be surprised if Hinduism evolves into accepting Islam's values of marrying multiple women if there is a need to be, as the women will out number the males soon.

What the Indian soldiers in uniforms have done and continue to do so is nothing less than terrorism.

Does this mean that Pakistan should stop freeing Indian fisherman, allowing Indians for religious reasons to visit Pakistan? No.

That is not logical. If India soldiers were doing what it is that you are accusing them of doing within the territory controlled by Pakistan, you have a case. Not otherwise. The LeT & other of similar persuasion are different in that they do their activity within Indian territory.

just saw a video about that in another thread. it really surprised me! but maybe for us it seems weird. perhaps women see it as giving them more power in some bizarre kinda way? i dont know, gave up trying to understand the female mind a while back

Sati practice was banned based on Humanitarian grounds not by copying any faith.

The situation here is that women are less and men are more.

The issue with Islam back then and now is, It is not evolved here and most of them are opposite to Hindu beliefs.

Sati was banned with a big British danda.. The same danda is required to get rid of all other social evils, in whatever religion.

WebMaster Sir, I want to make a small correction to your statement. It should be 'We all know how women were treated earlier after their husbands death in Hinduism'. The practices have been abolished more than 2 centuries ago. Raja RamMohan Roy, fought against Sati (the barbaric tradition - of burning the widow on her Husbands funeral pyre) and made a law to stop it during the early 19th century. Please go through the Bengal renaissance period and you will get to know about it.

The issue with Islam back then and now is, It is not evolved here and most of them are opposite to Hindu beliefs.

Islamic values are based on the time then (mainly war, old age) and if it was revealed to Mohammad (PBUH) then it takes account to what future holds. We are already seeing the results in more developed countries.
