Yet appart from Punjab most regions are dark

Our population centres exist around rivers as the surrounding areas are largely uninhabitable. That is why you see a straight line through most of Pakistan (i.e. the Indus river), and this is also the reason why your Rajasthan is dark.

Pakistan is easily is most connected to the grid country on the list and is just shy of 100% connectivity. As regards Balochistan it has smaller population then a typcal small Indian city on the Ganga only it is spread over a vast area.

And I put to you that the source is you posted is dodgy. Are we supposed to believe that from 2014 to 2016 shrunk to 73% where India was in 2014 and India has expanded to 81%. What sort of lame joke is this. Can you please post the link/source so we can see where these figures came from.

@Kambojaric @Talwar e Pakistan I have read this thread in aghast. One of the clear successes in Pakistan has been the near universal electric connectivity. Indeed that has been curse as well as people have tripped the system for electric theft causing massive losses and loadshedding as we all know leading to the crisis we have seen in Pakistan in last 5 years where industrial units had had to shut down.

I majored in geography and have keen interest in that subject in conjunction with history as a hobby. Few years ago I read reports where they researchers were developing advanced solutions to predict real GDP where there were concerns that documentation or enumeration of the real economy was weak. That caught my attention because I have been firm believer that Pakistan's real state of economic health is far better than the figures you see in Western publications. Further that the economic conditions in Pakistan are far better on the ground for average citizen then in India. This is based on anecdotal evidence and reports by visitors to both countries. I also know Indian ability at brag and bluster.

So I followed on this cutting edge satellite image light pollution modeland guess what? They showed Pakistan lit like a Christmas tree and the economic models predicted GDP at least 30% higher than figures quoted. I will find those reports when I have spare time.

Surprise. Surprise. Now we have these satellite images appearing showing Pakistan in pitch dark. I suspect some either these images are "crude". If remember the research paper mentioned that they had to take hundreds of images over six months and then create a composite. One image will have distortions. For example on there might be loadshedding that day or some celebration that distorts the general trend.

Here for instance is a image I just googled. Have a look at it. And do your own google search and you will notice mostly Pakistan is lit like a Christmas tree as is Indian Punjab. The only parts of Pakistan that are dark is down to very l;ow density of population whereas the eastern parts of Ganga in India despite having huge population are producing low level of light.

There is no conspiracy, just electricity production in one state of Maharastra is 38,372.83 MW which is much higher than total electricity production of pakistan.Gujarat is at 29,431 M, higher than pakistan...

I put forward a very simple proposition. Families do not like defacating in the open. The only reason you do will do it is because of economic poverty. Put it bluntly the only way your going allow your daughters or wife to go and crap in the open is if you simply do not have the means to provide sanitation at home.

Now please can somebody explain to me if the average Indian is better off then his Pakistani then why is he insisting on having his daughter or wife defecate in the open? We know India has the worst figures for defecating in South Asia.

Are the Indians here going to claim that the average Indian is more prosperous then his Pakistani counterpart but insists on hiding his money under the bed? While his wife is forced to poop outside?

There can be only two possibilities. Either the Indian head of the household is so tight and mean that he will trade his wifes and daughters respect by allowing them to poop outside or that he does not have the money to afford a functioning tiolet at home. Which one is it? Can some "India developing, India Mars" dude care to explain please???

The reality is average Pakistan has better access to electricty, better access to sanitation and better housing then his Indian counterpart which is why people who have visited both countries often mention the visibly less poverty and destitutes on the streets in Pakistan.
