GDP per capita of every district in South Asia

The twitter post below it...it seems to have been compiled by the World Bank

The Map has TOTALLY surprised me and upended my beliefs..I thought North India would be vastly poorer compared to Pakistan
I'm very surprised as well.

I'm guessing numbers must have been more underrepresented in Pakistan. I lived in Sialkot, a border city - visited the border multiple times and by the looks of it, the Indian side seemed to be much more impoverished. In Sialkot, you can earn around rs/25,000 - 50,000+($250-500) a month with mid-level education (high school) alone, which is pretty good in South Asia.

I've also had relatives that visited India and they did say that India was more impoverished, but they mostly visited Amritsar and Delhi.

Honestly telling wrong priority of a country as most penny goes to defense in order to compete with India and forgot the basic necessity like Electricity production, dam construction, education, hospitals etc...

In pakistan population concentrated on Punjab province and then Karachi, which itself shows bright spots on both stretches and people habitant on sides of Indus river. The balochistan is almost dark as less population and remote areas...

I just want to share this image and ask a question to Pakistanis. I know i get a lot of slack for this but which part of China will you be exporting to?

This map tell the reality of world map and human habitants and prosperity....

1. All India bright spots
2. East of China bright spots
3. Middle east(Some areas)
4. All Europe
5. Japan(Most brightest of all)
6. US(Almost all areas)
7. Brazil on its east part
8. Singapore,Malaysia etc..

Others are just irrelevant....

Most of Pakistan is an arid river nation, much like Egypt or Iraq. Our population centres exist around rivers as the surrounding areas are largely uninhabitable. That is why you see a straight line through most of Pakistan (i.e. the Indus river), and this is also the reason why your Rajasthan is dark.

Its simple geography.

We need a dozens of solar plants in Rajastan like below, as to utilize biggest source of electricity...

Electricity coverage of India is 81% in 2013,

Can I ask your source? As per the World Bank it was 79.2% in 2014, so must have been lower in 2013.

____________________________

Pakistan has done well in this regards. 97.5% of the population had access to electricity as of 2014. Geography in this sense works to Pakistan's advantage, as most people are concentrated in smaller areas, whereas in India the population is spread out through wider regions. We consequently have to spend less on infrastructure.

Pakistan's electricity coverage was 97.5% in 2014 compared to 58.7% in 1990.

India's electricity coverage was 79.2% in 2014 compared to 45.1% in 1990.

Balochistan is the biggest province of pakistan and very remote areas and less human habitants...Since your country is limited population to certain pockets of country, unlike India with almost 6 million Kms of paved and unpaved roads and to reach every corners of big India is an impossible task, where pakistan hardly have such monster figures of roads to worried about.India add more electricity in a year compared to total electricity production of pakistan.
