GDP per capita of every district in South Asia

. . .
Looking at the MAP, it seems that Pakistan's overall GDP per capita (nominal) should be less than USD 1000 Vs India's over USD 2000 (or may be USD 2500).

But according to world bank in 2016, GDP per capita (nominal) figures of India and Pakistan are USD 1709 and USD USD 1468 respectively. The difference is only USD 241, which is understandable being the neighbor of a war torn country, losing 100s of billions of dollars in the war on terror, and hosting the largest number of displaced people in the whole world.

Before Afghan war, Pakistan was doing well on all fronts as compared to India.

it's because large swathes of Pakistan are sparse and the , Pakistan is much more urban and thickly populated in certain strips.......the densely populated parts of Pakistan are about the same as the more prosperous parts of India

The Map would have come out better if the Size of the Distrcts were tied to their population

@gslv mk3 @SOUTHie your opinion please.:unsure:
That's true. Kerala's highest source of income is foreign remittance. Kerala governments income includes (apart from tax) Tourism, Liquor and he forgot to mention lottery sales.

Kerala has no high end manufacturing industries, there are many IT parks in the state. It is densely populated that makes it difficult to have much manufacturing facilities.

Yes, and that is the area where India is ahead of Pakistan. India has many more urban centers while Pakistan relies on a few (less than 10 probably). There has been an increase in migration from rural to urban in the past 3 decades. Pakistan needs less reliance on Karachi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Peshawar and Quetta.

Plus, Afghan migrants also settled in the urban centers and no one cared to keep them in the dedicated areas.

Point I wanted to put was that this MAP doesn't give the true picture, even if the MAP is true.

India did absolutely nothing till 1991 other than increase population...since then it has grown moderately okay till the 2008 Global Economic Crisis......then there was 6 years of pure stagnation......I could see with my own eyes every time I used to go back to India that mall,multiplex,new infra growth had come down to almost zero post-2008.....from 2014 onwards India had the good fortune of decisive leadership under Modi..........If he can stay in Office for 15 years, he might leave India at $6,000---$8,000 gdp per capita (nominal).....No where near developed countries(starts at 20,000 dollars GDP per capita nominal), but way better than pre-2014
