Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) on Thursday said he would soon introduce legislation that would eliminate U.S. aid to Pakistan and set the money aside for domestic infrastructure projects.

In a video address posted online, Paul blasted Islamabad for what he said was its willingness to harbor terrorist groups within Pakistan's borders while continuing to take billions of dollars in assistance from Washington.

"The United States should not give one penny to countries who burn our flag and chant 'Death to America,'" Paul said. "Countries like Pakistan that stonewall access to key information in fighting terrorism don't deserve our money."

"I say we should stop now," he added. "Stop sending your hard-earned tax dollars to Pakistan."

Paul, who introduced a bill in 2015 to end aid to the Palestinian Authority, said he was energized by President Trump's recent comments criticizing U.S. assistance to Pakistan, calling the president's position on the matter "a breakthrough."

"I've been fighting to end Pakistani aid for years. But now we have a breakthrough," Paul said. "President Trump has publicly called to end their aid, and is currently holding up over $200 million of it. I want to end all of it."

Paul's comments came shortly before the State Department announced that the U.S. would freeze security assistance to Pakistan amid frustrations over the country's failure to confront extremists within its borders.

State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said Thursday that the Trump administration is still working out the exact dollar amount of the aid cut, but noted that it would be a large amount. The freeze also applies to the delivery of military equipment to Pakistan.

I guess deliveries of Ah-1Z are officially suspended.

What about the payments we have already given to US for the helis?
In April 2015 Pakistan submitted a request for the sale of 15 AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters alongside 1,000 AGM-114R Hellfire-II multipurpose air-to-surface missiles for $952mn U.S. The U.S Department of Defense has just awarded Bell to build the first two units.
@Quwa

. . .
I think we paid only first three so it's not big deal. But divert future spending between Russian and turks r enough to move on.
It's time to say goodbye American hardware once for all and for good.

I am about to write a very upsetting post and it would feel mean. That's not the kind of a person I am. But sometimes, you have to shock a human body to bring it back to normal. I don't think it would work but here goes.

The time you took to write the 6 or so point, you and others could've taken that time to soul search and think about your country Pakistan. I have great memories of hiking and mountain climbing, loving people and their hospitality from Pakistan. So you should see that I respect your country. But its the people who don't get it. Here are my points and these are real from a worlds standpoint.

1: In all your points above, basically, as a standard Pakistani response, you've declined to accept any responsibility. This is exactly the issue the US has with you. Obviously, I am just speaking from your post as that's the standard response of "not me". Afghan's hate Pakistan, well, its their fault. Bengalis hate Pakistan, well, there is a reason and its other than anything wrong that was happened to them by Pakistan or Pakistanis. Iran is always skeptical of Pakistan, well that's because they are Shia's. KSA has often times be skeptical (unless the Shariffs are in power), well, its because they don't like your Benazir or whoever else. Do you see a pattern here? There is not even one sigh of "we have flaws, we made a few mistakes". Your attitude here is what the US government gets from the Pakistani military. Haqqani's? Well, they have an issue, but we'll work on it. When asks the US administration? As its been 8 years of that promise again and again. Well, when we can clean up the north and the south and the east. Common guys, we gave you locations and each time they ran away. Well, its because they move a lot. No one leaked anything to them. See a similar pattern to your post here??

2: India's not attacked you. If you are taught that, you should've read a different book. Pakistan attacked India in 65 and 71 and in Kargil. Who does that when you have less than 3 weeks of ammo to fire and little air-force? Its the bravado of the Pakistani Army!! It doesn't make sense to any sane mind. But the chorus you are taught to sing is that "India attacked us"!!

3: Time and time again, you guys have told everyone, we are a nuke power, we are this and that. When truly, 90% of the Pakistani people are super concerned right now on Trump's tweet. My question is why bullshit with someone who is much superior than you and can cause harm to you? If you don't want to work with them, you should say it vs. dodging the question and getting away with a lot. Musharraff has f*ked your country over, there is 0% doubt about it. There was another way to cut that deal. But who'se fault is that? Your military doesn't want to allow a system to be created and take shape because they want to be the absolute power station. How many places can they go run? Running a nation in this difficult situation is much beyond their capability.

4: Often times I hear and read about you guys asking for "equal relations" with the US. Well, how do you get it? You don't let a system stay in its allowed power of 5 years without damaging it. You don't allow one leaders policies to take shape for the past 50 years. You don't allow economy to grow. How can the US work with you on equal basis when all you've asked the US for the past 50 years was "please give me $$$$"!!?? You need to stand on your feet, be peaceful and grow the economy. That is the only way forward.

so iran hate usa, so its US fault? by your logic
russia hates US, its US fault?

in comparison to india, USA, China pakistan has done much better in its surround relationships

we settled our boarder both with china and iran in lengthy negotiations
we settled our boarder with Afghanistan almost officially but foreign power interventions has never even allowed a representative govt, if today Afghanistan has a representative govt the relationships will be mostly normal
our relationship with india is not our fault, our relationships with Bangladesh for the most part of the history have remained good, there founder visited Pakistan and relationships were settled, we had excellent relationships in BNP era as well, the part of current govt simply wanted to quash its opposition and Pakistan came into line of fire

by contrast compare india, has bad relationship with every neighboring country and has gone to war with everyone

you are confusing economical benefits/alliance with diplomacy
l
ook at taiwan, is it Taiwan failed diplomacy with USA at fault to be in this position, no its imply they have no choice
