Allahabad HC Permits ‘Azaan’ from Mosques Without Loudspeakers

Do you think The Secular Indian State should have any say in regulating Adhaan?

You mean prayers have already started and people hearing it come running and join the prayers .more efficient way is to announce 10 mins in advance the prayer time so that every one can join and pray together in silence.
Don't be naive....Azaan is a call for prayer...when everybody assemble then Namaz starts.

They can write in a chalkboard that this is the time for prayer and display it in front of the mosque. All people have watches or clocks to know the time.

They can also use SMS and apps for sending the alert.

It happens already, there are usually electronic boards in Mosques.

Just my thoughts

This one simple gesture by the Muslim community will go a long way in improving the Hindu Muslim relationship.

Before you ask - yes, I want loudspeakers banned for Bhajan Kirtan and Jagratha also

Ok....So you want change the religion? It is ok they stop using speakers but Azaan is the central part of our prayers.
Then stop celebration Holi, Dewali and lot of other things as well....Since Hindu rituals pollute water, air and unnecessary spending of money could be used for poor people.

Didn't say you stop Azaan. Just different method.

BTW Holi and Diwali are one day a year and the amount of crackers and water has been reduced very much. The Supreme Court also gave several restrictions on use of crackers.

Azaan is 5 times a day, 365 days a year

govt is working on controlling all such hindu festivals .

The Allahabad High Court on Friday, 15 May allowed 'azaan' from mosques but said that the use of loudspeakers could not be permitted. The court said that 'azaan' was a part of Islam but using loudspeakers were not a part of the religion.

The bench comprising Justice Shashikant Gupta and Justice Ajit Kumar gave this ruling on separate petitions field by BSP MP Afzal Ansari and Syed Mohd Faizal of Farrukhabad.

The court said that using loudspeakers for ‘azaan’ was an infringement on the rights of others since it disturbed their sleep. The rights of one person must not infringe on the rights of others, the court observed.

The court allowed the 'muezzin' of the mosques to hold 'azaan' without loudspeakers. The court also asked the chief secretary to inform all district magistrates of the order accordingly.

It may be recalled that the district administration of Ghazipur had banned the use of loudspeakers for 'azaan' and BSP MP Afzal Ansari had written to the Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court Justice Govind Mathura in this regard.

Now the Indian HCs will decide what is an essential part of Islam and what is not. (my emphasis)

Luckily we separated from these morons.
That's what Quid and the Muslims of 1940s foresaw. That Muslims will not have religious freedom while living with Hindus and Hindu will find ways of subjugating Muslims and bit by bit stop practices of Islam.

. .
Yes i can see that loudspeakers might disturb the non-muslims so they need to adopt a new alternative to this.

loudspeakers can disturb muslims and non muslims both ,when it is blared on full volume in navratri and durga pooja pandals , it makes impossible to sleep during november when durga pooja celebrations are done in bangal bihar, uttar pradesh.

Unfortunately, you're guests in an eternal Hindu state. Hindus will regulate other Hindus. Hindus will also regulate Muslims. This is what it means to be a guest in your own country.

. .
Hindus should just stop interfering in religious matters of Muslims. They should do their stuff and Muslims should do theirs. Easy, isn’t it?

We all know that loudspeakers are just the beginning for further restrictions on Muslim traditions!
