I'm not a fan of Chinese ethnic policy, it's legacy of Lenin's invention.
I'd prefer that the gov do not officially categorize people into different ethnic group, and do not put ethnicity on ID card.
Unfortunately like many other policies, it can hardly be revised due to ideological reason.
That's the real concern! but its' not visible in eastern/ central provinces!
Yes. I think this policy can change.
At this time, most of the minor groups actually benefit from this policy, except Xinjiang and Tibet.
Myself is a minority call HUI, although myself look like exactly the same as Han people.
That's true to some extent. But there are few ethnic group has very distinct features and can be spotted / separated easily
How is India ever more integrated than China. This does not make sense. India is composed of various states stitch together by the British. And English is the one language that bind India together. How integrated can India be if the one language that bind it together its the language of its old colonial master.
