I don't get it. I see a person as a person, not base on his color or nationality. You said that US soldier raped Japanese woman, but without that raping incident, aren't there any rape accident caused by Japanese men to Japanese women? Why caused a fuss about it? Every nation has its own kind of criminals. Japan and US are too close so the criminal could target people under a different flag.
And there is this joke about 2008 Olympics: a foreign athlete had to compete with a Chinese athlete. One day before the match, he commited suicide. In his dying letter, he explained that he could compete with one man, ten men, but he could never go agaisnt 1 billion people. Comment me on this statement: to Chinese, one crime commited by foreigner to a single Chinese is a crime against all the people of China.

What's about neutral? Most Chinese are national, and when CCP tells them that doing that is patriotic, doing this is good for the country, people follow without a second doubt. You can't weigh those two different things equally. They main reason why nationalism rise is not our "hostility", but we feel like being treated unfair and disappointed with government weak foreign policy. I still remember, your people in Vietnam have the same mentality. The author didn't grasp the point.

I have seen a few Chinese PDF mems talked about how Japan wants to restore the former glory. But I feel that the author gets a point in the fact that China wants to restore its former glory more than anyone else. China wants to get back to its middle position, where the world revolves around it. China wants to get back to the time when great leaders like Napoleon had to say "When China moves, the world shakes." Equality, that can wait. Justice, that can wait. China must grow first, grow all the way back to its highest peak in the history. For a strong nation, sacrificing a little benefit is nothing to Chinese, isn't that right?
