Pakistan has all the money to waste on things not needed. The issue is 'not' about money. It's the lack to will to save the lives of these people. Given the population of Pakistan, folks at helm think we can throw as many people on a problem as they want. These lives at the end of the day do not matter, to folks other than those close to them.

Toyota Hilux are death trap vehicle and our boys are continuously been given these death trap coffin vehicles, where as Maxpro and other armoured vehicles vehicles are kept for God knows for what purpose.

Exactly, empowering the cops that know the “human terrain” to help better detect who is an out of town threat come in to carry out attacks, and who maybe a local that has been turned to attack the FC for money or for some grievance.

working with people in the area that have local influence is also key. Knowing who owns what property, farmland, etc. to know who is local and who may be an outsider.

we also have to be careful not to antagonize the public, our own citizens. We should be careful when hiring police, so that any personal grudges don’t get exploited and undermine the effectiveness of the police and FC. Corruption over even the appearance of corruption can undermine local trust.

Yes I disagree. FC has been doubled in last few years. Regular officers (young and senior both) are posted in there. Their employment is bit different thats why they have a different equipment according to their role. Rangers and FCs are from MoI where as regular Army is from MoD. Its only FCs which have field Artillery and Tanks whereas Rangers doesn't have those. Secondly when ever there is war or situation like in KP and Baluchistan they fall under respective formation for operations. Thirdly, as far as the five shaheeds are concerned only one Naik is from FC others are from regular army.
