‘Too upset and angry’: Muslim teen barred from top London school for wearing veil quits

can someone tell me the reason for a woman to wear Burqa..... shouldn't the rules be bit relaxed to suit the present time....
Maybe she's ugly and insecure or maybe something else.

.
I wonder how people missed this bit?

So the school says its ok to dress up like a slut (though that too is against the rules) but no way can you make any other choice apart from that?

What's up with all of these "slut, whores" etiquettes ? Keep it for yourself and stop insulting other people.

Anyway, since you guys like offending people so much let me just say that it's a million times better to dress like a "slut" than like a 7th century freakazoid.

Some of you seem to have a hard time understanding what multiculturalism is,and that is a melting pot of different cultures within the norms of the welcoming societies. That's why we're all equal by law, have rights to worship any God we want ,or not, without our places of worships being torched or being treated as 2nd class citizens (*wink,wink*-Pakistan and other muslim countries).Multicultarism doesn't mean you have to move Baghdad in London, not all practices are accepted, hence why Mormon christians habit of polygamy isn't accepted, etc, etc.

I think you have the silly ideea that multiculturalism means western societies have to bend over backwards to accomodate every Tom,Dick and Harry fresh of the boat. The most annoying part is that instead of occupying your time with fixing the real problems at home, protecting really endangerd minorities you're wasting oxygen for every tiny detail in the most welcoming places of this Earth, westyern socities. That's not only hypocritical but infuriating to and that's why you're turning people against you.The West is not here to "give you",you have to "give" to adopting countries, and renouncing an out of fashion, medieval garment straight out from the 7 th century is a small price which you stubbornly refuse to pay.Don't be surprised when Westerners also refuse to pay and turn against muslim communities. At that time take a good look in the mirror to see who caused this backlash.

.
so uncovering your face makes you modern? but covering it makes it medieval? lol way kiya logic hai

do you think the dress code NUST had in pakistan is also good???
Yes covering your face is Medieval and idiot both. It speaks more about their husband, brothers and father thinking than anything else. The issue is with the thinking that makes you believe that faces should be covered.

Maybe she's ugly and insecure or maybe something else.
Women does not wear them with their will. They do not get born and say I want to cover my face, It is men who created the rules and feed them the rules that they should cover. They basically cover to follow the rules, some are convinced rules are correct some not but they cover because of the rule.

You will call oneself willingly covering if she does not read or hear about any rule and come to conclusion that they should cover the face. Everything else is forced, influenced with fear, influenced with acceptance.

As long as they keep in family. You would not object your parents telling you how to behave, would you?
I also have right to have my opinion.

Terrible analogy. Polygamy shouldn't be compared to wearing a veil.

Lo
"Straight from 7th century", "Medieval", and "Out-of-Fashion".
You could say that many women are forced to wear it, or that it's not a practical thing to wear or it can be considered a security risk. They're valid to a certain extent.
But "Out of Fashion"? lmfao

How come I am the only one quoted when 2 other Indians said the same? They seemed to understand such language...

Everyone has a right to their opinion and you are no exception....you find one better I find the other better....no harm done!

Ok since you picked this up....

Look at the 2 statements they are literally opposite of each other....

1) you talk about WHAT multicultural is : equality

2) But when you dont agree with another's religion you forget the definition and drop the equality and treat the one you dont agree with as 2nd class citizens (and bring in Pakistan and Muslim countries to embarrass yourself coz you are doing the same as what they do and by bringing them in...instead of forming a comparison of differences you seem to form a similarity)

You claim multiculturalism and then when you see it you call it Baghdad?!

See the remark HYPOCRISY?

Either embrace multiculturalism, the definition, embrace different cultures as per the definition and be equal and not treat others as 2nd class....OR dont brag about it by comparing it with "Muslim" countries and then DO EXACTLY what those Muslim countries do.....

I think you have the silly ideea that multiculturalism means western societies have to bend over backwards to accomodate every Tom,Dick and Harry fresh of the boat.
1stly, THAT is what multiculturism MEANS and you even defined it YOURSELF...

2ndly, SHE was born there and raised there...not exactly fresh off the boat kindly stop painting everyone with the traumatic image you gain from the media!
The most annoying part is that instead of occupying your time with fixing the real problems at home, protecting really endangerd minorities you're wasting oxygen for every tiny detail in the most welcoming places of this Earth, westyern socities.
Well it is worrying when these most welcoming places are turning into intolerant places and still trying to pull on the sheep clothing of Multiculturalism, liberal and tolerant which dont fit and have become 2-3 sizes too small for these welcoming places...
Oh we are occupying time in fixing some probs back home but that is not the topic of this thread ...you can drag that in the appropriate thread if you please!

That's not only hypocritical but infuriating to and that's why you're turning people against you.
Sorry I dont get this bit...

The answer to this 2 statements is in every statement of mine on this thread!

STOP BEING A HYPOCRIT and denounce THE VERY TITLE that differentiates you from Muslim countires....Denounce Liberal minds, denounce secular and also denounce tolerance....coz when you are not doing any of them you have no rights to compare yourselves and jeer at Muslim countries when you yourselves fit the bill as much as the Muslim countries!

Muslim countries NEVER use these words: Liberal , secular and tolerance....Hence they are not hypocrites...they do wrong but they dont hide behind CERTAIN words ...

If you want to jeer a Muslim country or COMPARE the difference....Show a difference worth comparing...Similarities are not something to jeer the other about, check the mirror yourselves!

Didn't notice them. They're dumb as well if they used that term.FYI i'm not the biggest fan of skimpy outfits on women but to each his own and i find etiquettes such as "sluts" very offensive and abject.

Ergh no......i've clearly mentioned...within the norms of our societies. You're very hypocritical when equating western liberalism to allowing face veil or not.Better equate it to the allowance of mosques,no "jyzia" like tax,no religious violence,no killing those who deny Jesus as the One True God,no killing of those who burn a Bible,no killing of the "Sharia for UK" crowd,no "you need 4 women witnesses to equal 1 men" or other crap like that.

No sir, let's close our eyes to ALL these liberties and moan everyday about the face veil. Not only that but you have the audacity to compare western democracies with muslim countries where religious minorities are torned apart by muslim crowds while the police watches on the side lines .Really ? I mean REALLY ? Just because they don't allow face veils...Jesus,i'm wasting my time here, some of you can't grasp simple things.

2ndly, SHE was born there and raised there...not exactly fresh off the boat kindly stop painting everyone with the traumatic image you gain from the media!

Evidently she was raised in the UK as a mere location, clearly at home they were still in the Arab peninsula.

@flamer84 ,She is part of the silent muslim majority that never spoke up and now there is a wahabI infestation in europe particularly (rare in canada largely due to our assimilation). I practice the islamique faith myself and the niqab is clearly a symbol of slavery n opression in todays context plus a security threat. Also the muslims of her leaning largely do nit believe in our values of secularism and see it clash with their islamic ideology. She is a decent friend and her analysis are strong in issue partaking in middle east but avoid religious leaning discussions because her definition views people wearing skirts as "sluts" may give you a hint mon ami so for sake of time avoid the topic as it will lead to no result.

Sorry about that then...

Stop swinging the extreme swings and throwing in every word media tells you...do you know what jyzia is? or was that thrown in to hint your ignorance on the subject?

As for the 4 women ....many countries threw it out but media repeats it for its own purposes...I can even quote a lawyer from Harvard backing the shariah and she is not even Muslim....I have posted that article here numerous times coz people from their lack of information just throw in what the media feeds them....

A person's choice does not equal to SHARIAH FOR UK it does however fit in with the definition of accepting DIFFERENCE which = to liberal and tolerance

While the Saudi also claim to fit in the norms of their society = cover up!

So how is Saudi NOT liberal and termed intolerant?

Pry do tell me the difference? When you do it, it is liberal and tolerance when the same is done in another country it gets the opposite definition?

No sir, let's close our eyes to ALL these liberties and moan everyday about the face veil.
THAT is exactly what is happening and it is not even those using it are moaning but those oppressing out of shear fear due to what media feeds them...Mind you I aint the only one who found this offensive and really a hypocrisy act:

More than 700 people have signed a "Stop the Islamophobia" petition in protest at the school’s stance. The petition at change.org, started by an anonymous protester, claims the 16-year-old was allowed to sit exams this summer wearing the veil, and that former pupils have been allowed to wear the niqab. It states: “This school is renowned for its ‘individuality’ and ‘strong feminist views’. However, this poorly thought out decision made by the school contradicts this. What happened to ‘freedom of expression’?”

One of those to have signed the petition, Farhana Khanom, commented on the website: “I went to Camden school for girls and many girls wore veils and were allowed to do so. This school had a reputation. And now discriminating [against] people that made their own choice to wear what they feel is utterly disgusting.”

Another signatory, Cabrini Cotter-Boston, posted online: “This decision has set them back decades. It’s disgusting that Camden teaches us as young women to empower ourselves, and to push the boundaries set by society, yet they themselves are taking away a young girl’s education because of her choice in clothing.”

Camden School for Girls bans 16-year-old Muslim student from taking A-levels until she removes niqab - Education News - Education - The Independent

I didnt compare it was your Indians who brought in Saudi REPEATEDLY...

and even you did so! Its easy to throw the blame on someone else but difficult to take responsibility!

I only asked if you think you are different than Saudi (after it was dragged in along with Pakistan) than show the difference!

That is clear injustice...when an Indian Male uses the word slut it is fine and goes unquestioned, unchallenged... but god forbid a Muslim woman uses that word? Drag it all over the thread!

You may need to define it to me...Because apparently the definition I google up do not fit what you people present!

The difference is clear as day as i've showed in my previous post.If you can't see it than you're blind and i can't help you.

Maybe you need to change all the definitions in every single dictionary coz Europe has created a new definition for liberal...it for sure doesnt include accepting differences.....in fact it seems to become being afraid of differences!

This is the 1st definition of the word I got on google:

liberal
ˈlɪb(ə)r(ə)l/
adjective

  1. willing to respect or accept behaviour or opinions different from one's own; open to new ideas.
liberal: definition of liberal in Oxford dictionary (British & World English)

Not limited to or by established, traditional, orthodox, or authoritarian attitudes, views,or dogmas; free from bigotry.

Favoring proposals for reform, open to new ideas for progress, and tolerant to the ideas and behavior of others; broad-minded.

liberal - definition of liberal by The Free Dictionary

Next you need to tell the former students of the school they lived in fairy land times and now its the real world where we tolerate what we want not based on the word toelrance itself as I have pointed in the post 222...

So,you're throwing away ALL the liberties i've mentioned just because we don't accept face veil.Ok,got you.

I never threw anything away....but I challenge the word liberal...Because the "liberties" you mentioned...maybe I should reply based on each of them...then you will understand that Europe doesnt fit the bill to be called liberal as many countries are already doing what you claimed and they dont even call themselves liberal!

MANY places like Indonesia does sure they have riots so does London or any other place on the planet...so again I ask you WHAT makes you proud of a difference that isnt there?

Do you believe in secularism?

Yep,clearly we agree to disagree.

I'm a practicant Christiam myself but i understand well that we can't practice everything like in the 3rd century,we don't live in the 3 rd century and secularism is a good counterweight to religion in poltical and social life.Unchecked religious power is disastrous, humans can't control religion if it gains 1st rank power in our lives ,as proven by past centuries.

MANY places like Indonesia does sure they have riots so does London or any other place on the planet...so again I ask you WHAT makes you proud of a difference that isnt there?

Because the difference IS there and it's HUGE.For some strange reasons you just can't see it.
