8 years Sino-Japanese war is not a continuous fighting affair, but rather a long mostly peaceful 8 years, punctuated by occasional flared up of fighting.

During this time, KMT, Japs and CPC were mostly in peace, and they even trade with one another. I know this is very diametrically opposite to the descriptions on textbook.

And more bizarre, the overstretch Japanese found themselves not being able to supply their troops. The troops traded weapon with CPC for food. This was instrumental for the rise of CPC after WW2.

Eventually CPC got so familiar on the ground that the first moment Japanese surrender, they rush and loot the Japanese armoury, and overnights, they became invincible. The Japanese commanders did not stop CPC, and in fact, large numbers of Japanese joined CPC in fighting the KMT. Today CPC only disclosed she had large numbers of Japanese medical corps in the ranks.

The Japanese weapon was instrumental in the defeat of USA in Korean War, while the USSR weapon finally arrived and equipped in meaningful amount only during the 4th Korean campaign.

Meanwhile the Japanese field commanders and KMT are friends and buddy also, during peaceful time.

2) The investments are all international.
3) There were projects that failed to cover the debt payments whereby China took over the completed project as agreed on contracts.
4) China doesn't control SWIFT payment clearance system.

My point is some of the infrastructure built under those projects will fail to make money, what if some of those nations also refuses to handover those infrastructure to China ? How will China enforce the agreement where it can secure its interest ?
Those islands China built are full of military installations and equipment.

With so much at stake its naïve to think China will keep rising peacefully.

The events in the international geopolitics will play out as they do. What I think or you think will have a little impact on it.

However we can talk objectively about it.

Failed BRI projects will be the point of contention in the future.

All conflicts in BRI projects are to be arbitrated in China.

Some nation just may not agree to give up their infrastructure even if is the contract. China didn't care much about South China sea maritime ruling.
As things happen, whenever there is a conflict it just may invite a third party ( The West ) in the conflict.

The main difference between a BRI project and a project by world Bank is there are no political conditions attached to BRI. BRI projects have higher interest rates with longer payback terms.
