What's new

Taiwan worries it will lose TSMC after Morris Chang confirmed its 3nm fabs and more engineers will be moved to US.

Then why is there so many anti asian attack or unarmed black man being shot by police.

What does this Whataboutism have to do with a Pakistani not considering Chinese as Americans?

Are you saying he agrees with certain extremist groups that some people of the world are too low on the scale of humanity to ever be considered Americans?

He going to agree with the flat Earthers too?

I don't the police are shooting at black people because they think they aren't Americans...

They are moving hundreds of experienced engineers, something they can’t replace or replicate, not to mention moving of the equipment instead of purchasing new ones for capacity expansion.
And the experienced engineers will really teach the american know how? They know they will be discarded when their usefulness is used up....

It just like GE F110 turbofan engine. You think the american will be so easily given this tech to others.

USA is not more the USA 20 years ago who can do whatever they want in this world. There is some limitations for USA.

Of cos I agree with his statement. A Chinese can never be president of USA. There is deep race segregation in USA. White supremacists is deep rooted in USA.

American are good in surface workmanship but in the inside are all rotten. All the so called democracy, human right are toss aside when comes to maintain US imperialism.

TSMC doesn’t have a choice, but they can’t recruit enough qualified Americans to teach.

A second ago you were talking about black people being shot at and we just had a black President...

As for a Chinese being President...wait your turn. There's still 99+ other ethnic groups. How about a Native American first before crying about unfairness to Chinese.

Lol.. you do know that TSMC don't rely on american talent to build their 3nm production. TSMC are build up purely based on Taiwanese own effort. If US want to use their software to threaten TSMC, TSMC can bite back USA by banning making any 3nm for any american companies since their method is the most mature.

Look at Netherland ASML. If US push them too far, they will fight back. When comes to their core Interest. Even you are Martian , these dutch or Taiwanese will never give a damm.

Did I say a black can never be president of USA?

I did say Chinese, not black, right? Why try to divert the point? African are no threat to white supremacists control in USA. There is no worry to put a black puppet serving the interest of white supremacists in USA.

Did Obama being the president of USA change the fate of black in USA?

No, but Taiwan is being armed by the West, foreign diplomats are landing there without Chinese permission, how is that not a declaration of war?
China and Taiwan are officially still in civil war. Offering weapons and sending diplomats to one side were not rarely seen when a country was in civil war. For example, US civil war, Spanish civil war. But one side joinning in other country is another story.

ASML can only push back so far because their machines are made of parts licensed and built by foreign countries...including many critical parts from the US. That lithography tech is not all in-house.

ASML exists because Intel, Samsung, and TSMC funded them to build machines that they could use. They are the only 3 who matter...not China.

"ASML is a Dutch company, but it’s also a Dutch company that relies very heavily on U.S. components in particular for its machines.”

One country ASML won’t ship its EUV technology to is China.

Forty-two countries around the globe have agreed to put export control measures on it because it’s so critical,” Wennink said. “So it’s not our choice, it’s the choice of governments.”"

They didn't follow US ban on mature DUV, the export to China still continue. Dutch are not stupid to follow US badly. Worst come to worst Dutch ban all EUV to US companies. Asking Dutch not export any machine to China is as good as asking them not to make any profit.

If ASML can't survive , so is US semiconductor companies.

Sounds like desperation here. TSMC is no longer a Chinese asset. Huawei has to resort to the domestic market to survive. The rest of China's semicon industry is in pain from corruption to sanctions. So you have to fall back to this feeble argument. No, just like plenty of Taiwanese engineers that I had the pleasure of working with over the decades, the American colleagues will welcome their Taiwanese partners, learn from them, promote them, and make many of them into Americans.

It is only the US who are doing that. France got sanction by China for selling arms to Taiwan. Nobody dare to sell arms to Taiwan except USA. So what is your point?

Nice cheapshot when the desperation is on US side. China has the market on our side. We have no worry. The effort to build advance chips are in progress.

And you are naive to think Taiwanese are dumb to teach american know how? You have your way, so as the Taiwanese. Now u are asking them to know how to end their market shares.

When the day come when GE teaches Iranian how to product a F110 turbofan engine then I will accept Taiwan is keen to teach american how to build a 3nm chips. :enjoy:

LOL! I didn't know racism towards Chinese was so deep rooted in Pakistan that you would never consider people of Chinese descent Americans.

Other than the native American people everybody here came from somewhere else. So everybody is just as much of an American as the next person.

But if you really want to go down that route and head back to the OP how come with over 1 Billion people China didn't create the integrated circuit? Why is so much stuff you use every day invented by "dumb Americans" and not much by the Chinese? Or better yet a country full of people great at math could not invent the bicycle (France) and 60 years later leverage that into building the first airplane (US).

It didn't take millions of dollars in research to build the first bicycle and neither did it for the first plane. Just people who saw something and put their minds towards doing it.

LOL Tell that to your Japanese friends.

Japanese-American Incarceration During World War II

In his speech to Congress, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt declared that the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, was "a date which will live in infamy." The attack launched the United States fully into the two theaters of World War II – Europe and the Pacific. Prior to Pearl Harbor, the United States had been involved in a non-combat role, through the Lend-Lease Program that supplied England, China, Russia, and other anti-fascist countries of Europe with munitions.

The attack on Pearl Harbor also launched a rash of fear about national security, especially on the West Coast. In February 1942, just two months later, President Roosevelt, as commander-in-chief, issued Executive Order 9066 that resulted in the internment of Japanese Americans. The order authorized the Secretary of War and military commanders to evacuate all persons deemed a threat from the West Coast to internment camps, that the government called "relocation centers," further inland. You are wrong. There are plenty of American, Indian, and European engineers working in TSMC, especially in the early days when Morris Chang started the company.

Ah, the usual specific example. What if I told you that creating an all white American team is possible?

It's just a picture of 6 guys that formed a group. Not statistics. Do you think 5/6th of Harvard, MIT, Yale etc are also Asians?

Harvard, Yale etc do not given admissions based on merit rather on nepotism, race and money.

US Supreme Court takes up race-based college admissions
