T90 Compared with Al Khalid

@Capt.Popeye @sancho @XiNiX

This guy and Umair Nawaz believe T 90 S BHisma is basic vesrion of T 90 and has 840 HP engine.

Please give them info about T 90 S Bhisma..............

os oka muqabla

(Al khalid is named after Khalid bin waleed,victorious in more than hundred battles and never defeated)

I was merely saying T 90 S Bhisma is upgraded version of T 90S and has 1000 HP engine.

Mr Umair Nawaz Doesnt agree with me and says T 90 Bhisma is absic version of T 90 which comes with 840 HP engine..............

The T-90M Bhishma (named for the almost invincible warrior in the Mahabharata) is a customised, improved version of the T-90S...........

Pay attention to bolded part.

Rubbish.,,,,,,, its the T-90MS version basically updated S version.

fire control system of alkhalid being worked on in ASRF..

noice the commanader and gunner have seperate sensor heads for their respective optics, laser range finder and thermal imager. the t-90 features a basic 1A45T fire control system which features ZERO hunter killer support which is why the tank cannot lock on more than one targets and cue them in the fire control computer. More coming..
@gslv thats the FCS i was talking about the other day that we manufacture ourselves. Its Pakistani system.

you forgot quite a few names, should i help? :confused:

HOw a tank performs in battle is not a function of its technical capabilities alone. In addition it is the quality of the crew (skill, training, level of preparedness) as well as doctrine (how the army uses tanks) and support (is the tank used as part of an effective combined arms package). Without that kind of assessment, I think a mere technocal comparison will inevitably be flawed.

In many respects T-34 was more modern than PzKw IV, yet the latter remained a tough opponent to the very end.

you must be the "all knowing" sir?

Actually, the indians are geniuses that they inducted the same mbt in two different versions. Teh first version was the standard export model, or monkey model the S version. It had an inferior FCS, the average armour package and there was an 40hp engine. The earliy batches were a sheer ride for the indians which they realised after three years. Then, the controact was signed for a much improved version which was in service with the Russians themselves. The t-90M vladmir. Again, as we speak, there are fewer M versions in indian army than the S Bhishma. though all T-90s are called by the same name. There is a reason why the indians are upgrading the armour, thermal imaging sights and the fire control system.

There are another funny thing, tp this date, the Russians have not come up with a decent thermal imaging sight on their own. The Peleng, the ESSA and the Buran Catherine, all Russian sights house foreign (European, mostly french) thermal imaging sights. Not to mention that indian t-90 still DOES NOT have adequate cooling for electronics and the crew.

Just a "Trivia" for you guys.

@ptldM3

here is your 1A45T fire control system operational on the t-90S/M etc, notice the same fire control system is also operational on Russian t-80U, Pakistani t-80UD which is being upgraded with new FCS and BMS systems.

Standard components of this system are"

1A46 complex

1V528-1 ballistic computer

Buran PA night sight, or ESSA night sight in M version

missile control channel and display with Reflex missile.

from these images, you can clearly see there is no support for a panoramic sighting system as there is no seperate head for commander and the gunner.

Now, when 1A45T is compared to Alkhalid's FCS, there is a wide gap, not only the latter looks more advanced, it is more advanced :)

arguing which is the better tank when it all likely hood they'll never face eachother on the battlefield, unless these tanks can climb mountains :rofl:

Climb mountains? In case of war they will be meeting in the plains of Punjab or the Cholistan desert... Not the mountains of Kashmir.

Armored battles are not won only with better tanks. It's all about strategy and tactics.

The German Panzers are a testament to this. German tanks were not miles ahead of other tanks, rather bulk of their machines were inferior; yet, their legendary performance is a tale of military history.

Once the Red Army rectified their tactics, they proved to be unstoppable even by the Wehrmacht. But in 1941, they were almost hammered into oblivion by the Germans.
-----------------------------------------------------

The military forces of Pakistan and India are average at best. The almost laughable performances of their armored formations in 1965 prove that their Generals and general staff is incompetent for fighting armored warfare.

my point exactly. would Pakistan and India ever get to that point??? or will it just be minor brush wars in the Kashmir area.
