PIA to do big upgrades, will have 50 new planes by 2023

.
Please do go through
www.airbus.com

They do not only have A380 but their best selling aircraft is A320 series along with A330's. The latest addition to their regional gets are the A-220's and long range are the A350's.

330's are still not that popular as the 777's and thats a fact, now with the 777x it will give a breath of fresh air in the program and give Boeing some breathing room

Chinese jet engines are not as efficient as their counterparts. Airbus has the best and the most efficient jet engines even better than boeing in comparison. Pakistan has already decided to pursue Airbus mainly due to unreliability of US in terms of supplying critical parts at times of conflict.
It uses GE/Saffron engines. Same as 737max. Unless there is a complete break in relations...which is unlikely. USA won't sanction civil aviation.

Bombardier 100 seat business is being sold to Japan Mitsubishi for mere 350 Million Dollars would have been nice if such a business was bought by Pakistani company to bring Civilian Jet manufacturing to Pakistan
Smaller regional planes to begin with is plausible. A large plane like C919 or 737 is not currently possible...our industrial base is developed enough.

at least 20 times flew PIA from US and Canada to Pakistan, round trips
never ever had any hostess give me bad attitude or refuse, I have even seen them giving their food to passengers if someone asks extra, Tea Coffee cold drinks any time you ask they bring. And no I dont care how beautiful the hostesses are, they are not beauty pageants but doing a job like any working woman does her job, to say they are old and ugly is extreme sexists that like saying you wont go to your Khala's house for Eid because her daughter are not pretty.

Clearly u have never flown. Pia and u have the same standards

I hate people who think they are entitled to something special, Occasional or once in a life flying ones have this attitude of getting "excellent service". People who fly regularly use Air planes to go from Point A to point B and they dont choose air lines based of the beauty of their cabin crew. Unlike most people who think their $1500 makes them some big money spender and require special treatment. I think of an Air line as a mean to travel and my option to choose PIA is to give something back to my country just like I do it so many other ways, it doesnt matter how my money is used I am just doing my part and that is the reason I buy PIA for CAD 1600 but not Ittehad for CAD 1100. If my 1600 are used for the salary of one low wage earner of PIA then the "trouble" i go thru to travel is offset. This is just like I dont buy cheaper Indian rice but pay extra dollar and pick Pakistani brand. you people have you reason I have mine.

actually that's not a bad idea for umrah and hajj flights but cost of running A380 is very high and thats the reason the platform did not gained momentum

A350 is much better platform in my view,

During Benazir's 2nd term in office, once I had to pull a few strings to get a business class seat from London to Islamabad. After boarding, I found that Busines Class was deliberately kept half empty so that families of the PIA staff ( normally entitled to free economy seat) could be upgraded to business class seats after the plane took off. As if it was not enough, despite being full fare-paying passenger, I was asked to change seats because staff family members wanted to sit together.

I have since switched to Emirates Airlines. Sorry to say that I am not hopeful. It would simply mean the induction of more staff and more free travel for the staff and even bigger loss. You would need another Noor Khan as the Head of PIA to make it a first-rate airline. That does not require additional planes, simply honest hard working management, first-rate maintenance and only the minimum number of staff.

Critical parts in the Airbus aircraft come from USA. That is why Europe having so much trouble delivering Airbus to Iran.

Airbus does not produce jet engines. Its GE, Rolls Royce, CFM or Pratt & Whitney. All these engines have their critical parts imported from USA. Therefore USA can arm twist anyone it wants as Europe is integrated in its supply chain and economy.

330 is such a useless plane if you have taken a flight in 777. In any class configuration, 777 beats 330 by a long margin as its spacious in legroom and headroom and has huge overhead bins.

I want then for hajj and umrah flights only we can take as many in one go

A 330 neo is better in terns of space

Hould buy two used A 380 for hajj and umrah flights
Nope, that wont be feasible unless they put that on the London route after hajj. But only buying one doesn't make sense from a business point of view. The best choice for PIA would be to switch its entire fleet from Boeing to Airbus. The best plane would be the Airbus A350-1000.

again feasibility problems, it takes certain time for a pilot to switch from one platform to another, my friend flies for Air Blue and he went from Boeing to Airbus (or the other way around) and he literally had to go through a vigorous training session, also they need refreshers even for moving from one variant to another like e.g. going from 777 to 777ER

A380 would also mean having new runways as it requires a longer runway and other infrastructure to operate. With recent news of PIA bringing back a 777 from dead makes me think that we will stick to Boeing platform, also we have defense strings attached to Boeing as well with prospects of goodies coming from Lockhead Martin coming our way
