All the decisions taken in its short reign point to lack of populism. Removing Electricity subsidies, petrol subsidies, getting rid of foreign currency smugglers at gunpoint. This ain't golden age, but surely more rational than before.

The caretaker government thinks either (a) it is not competent to take such a weighty decision as to sell/liquidate the nation's flag carrier or (b) it is politically unwise at present. So, they managed to scrounge up a loan to keep the sham going for a few more months. Once the elections are over, it will become the new government's tar baby to be discarded in the dumpster.
