A nations leaders are reflective of it's own people. If a nation condones corruption then that's what you will get, simple as that. Most know that corruption exist yet refuse to believe it's a problem. Most problems are with law and order which has it's root cause: corruption. Corruption which causes injustice. Injustice which spews frustration. Frustration which ferments confusion and then confusion which leads to loss of morality and complete sense of what is right and wrong. Once you lose that element a society cannot be functionally sound and which in turn leads to anarchy and that's the end of it (unless another coup repeats the cycle).

Coups are not the answer for Pakistan and certainly these mafia nepotistic politicians aren't either. The only way change will come is if people will literally wipe these Mafias out of existence and hang them themselves. Other than that people will continue to suffer.

Temporary relief can be understood but the question of what if it backfires still remains. Bro.. noonies will never understand.. They don't care about people dying on Pakistan roads due to lack of medical facilities, but they approve Shareef family's treatment on tax payers money in London.

After this case, and reading the remarks of 5 judges (2 of them comparing him with GODFATHER character, and the rest of the three initiating criminal investigations against him), they still believe shareef family loves Pakistan and Pakistanis.

I feel sorry for them really.. They think we hate Pakistan, despite knowing almost all of us are happy in our lives and don't need this Jihad bil Qalam, but we suffer when Pakistanis suffer.. We know these poor souls will again vote for their looters, even then we continue with our little effort..

[Realistic Change]

Pakistan had been made a perfect example of demoncraziation - there is not a single country after the WW-II that has changed it's economic landscape without authoritarian leadership - but for some reason beneficiaries of this corruption (PPP and Noonies) have sold this pseudo democracy manjan successfully stating that their style of democracy is the solution to prosperity.

Which country has progressed in democracy from infancy in last half century: Singapore, China, South Korea, Malaysia? There could be one or two marginal examples but when you compare apples to apples we do not see any country matching the progress of North Korea split from North Korea in 1948 and in 1957 had GDP less than Ghana and now as we write, it is in excess of $36,000.

What these countries had in common; steadfast visionary leaders who set the direction of the countries; raised the level of infrastructure quality and worked towards the plan - was any of them were steered by our brand of corrupted to the core type of democratic leaders?

Pakistan has multiple issues to deal with; it does not need Martial Law or Democracy first, it needs a selfless leader first who has to have total authority to set systems straight. Our romance with western style democracy will start once we have control over certain things and strengthening the systems that are stronger than personalities:

1. Literacy
2. Social Economic Indicators
3. Health Index
4. Infrastructure
5. Religious fundamentalism
6. Nationalism

At present, if you visit Pakistan and go into areas where majority of people live; you would see there are five/six different mini countries living in their silos; and have certain animosity towards others; which is flared up by local leaders as it serves their purpose of being in power.

Until the nexus of evils triangle is not broken by that personality; we could face many issues and have already faced them in division of country, fragmentation of existing provinces and Northern Areas or Karachi/Hyderabad.

Leader has to be make each part of Pakistan inclusive; and not chant slogans of "Idhar Hum - Udhar Tum" or "Jaag Punjabi Jaag - Teri Pagg Nu Lag Gaye Aag" of our current PM.

These things have divided and clearly marked the boundaries of haves and have nots and then in order to stick to power these divisions have to be amplified by so called democracy leaders and those of us that believe that these larger than systems personalities will do something for our country are living in fairyland and our dreams have been shattered too many times to not realize - it ain't happening in this system.

It has never happened in history of mankind; and until root causes are fixed on a macro and micro level by a true nationalist leader, we will keep dreaming and getting disappointed every time Panama or Dawn Leaks popping up. As players in both of these cases were beneficiaries of this rotten system; and human instinct is to save oxygen for its existence - and corruption is oxygen for Nexus of Evils Triangle (Establishment, Bureaucracy and Conventional Political Parties (PPP/PMLN) with interests to keep the system as Status Quo.

Agree with everything you've said above but slight variation in my opinion.

China is not a democracy.

Singapore and Malaysia were one, until it was split and Singapore was taken by local chinese. Singapore had a huge amount of money pumped in from the West to make it a financial hub - so it had major assistance. Whereas Malaysia was left poor and had civil war between chinese and malays - lots of bloodshed - and then came Mahatir - so yes, Mahatir took Malaysia from a poor to a developed nation and he was a hard man.

South Korea is another story of money pumped from West/USA.

Despite all the ills, Pakistan is blessed and you are right we lack a nationalist leader in power and control to set the path.

its just being spread around to deminish his stature
and try to get him out of the bench, if it remains the same till 60 days to oversee the jit
the noora/s are trying to make him contraversal now...because of him being senior most judge/ next chief justice, and clear verdict against nawaz sharif,

Mera khyal hai..ke he was himself undecided at tht time..ke exactky karna kia hai...and maybe some other judges too.. I think except pakora and advocate..who were sure from day 1 tht they have to save Nawaz sharif by hook and crook...others needed some time..to have a look at everything...all over again.... Jaisy sunn rahay hain ke Justice Ijazul Ahsan was undecided till the last few days...

So what will they..do in the bench..latera. S i think they will excuse themselves from being part of this case again..and this was my opinion..even before this resignation story came up..

I hope so too... I also desperately want Justice Qazi Faiz Isa in the new bench..... He is one another very honorable judge...who challenges ppl at the top.. Have much respect for him too
