As for apostasy, no Quranic prespective on it.. while various schools of thoughts lead by scholars have their own "verdicts" on the issue.

Nevertheless, the reality is that a very great deal of attacks upon Muslims and non-Muslims are characterized by the perpetrators as "defensive". Perhaps nothing stands in in an American's mind more than Osama bin Laden's call after 9-11 for Muslims to unite because "Islam is under attack".

Although I do consider it fair game to raise questions about Islamic religious observance I don't consider it my place, as a non-Muslim, to declare or determine what proper religious observance for a Muslim is. Therefore I judge by empirical observations in real context, not by some religious doctrine, and certainly not by a warped view of reality or subscriptions to falsehoods.
