Thanks for the link yr btw few days back a lot of members said that "but oh Quran doesn't tell us about salat" when i said that Quran doesn't say anywhere to kill the blasphemers (you know the hot debate we both are having with a lot of members these days) so today after reading your thread i decided to search about salaat in Quran and look what i found... http://www.quran-islam.org/faq/where_is_salat_in_quran_(P1377).html what do you think of this? but i still have a question azlan hadiths are sayings of Prophet we can say not all of them are authentic and are right but how we learn about life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) than? i mean how we learned about Taif incident and so many other things? kind of a noobie question but i want to know this.

Bro, if we read the Holy Qur'an, it becomes absolutely clear that Muhammad (PBUH) was not the first Muslim. Islam was revealed by Allah with Prophet Adam (a.s.), and every single Prophet who came after him also followed and propagated the same deen of Al-Islam. "Salat" was not a new concept/ritual introduced by Muhammad (PBUH)... Ibrahim a.s, as per the Holy Qur'an, prayed: رَبِّ اجْعَلْنِي مُقِيمَ الصَّلَاةِ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِي ۚ رَبَّنَا وَتَقَبَّلْ دُعَاءِ "My Lord, make me an establisher of "Salat", and [many] from my descendants. Our Lord, and accept my supplication" (14:40) ... Musa a.s. was also ordered to perform "Salat" and Allah tells us in the Holy Qur'an that he had taken covenant from Bani Israel about performance of "Salat" : "And Allah had already taken a covenant from the Children of Israel, and We delegated from among them twelve leaders. And Allah said, "I am with you. If you establish Salat and give zakah and believe in My messengers and support them and loan Allah a goodly loan,.... " (5:12) ... Similarly other prophets were also ordered to establish "Salat" as per the Holy Qur'an ...... I believe that one should establish "Salat" fulfilling all the requirements of "Salat" mentioned in the Holy Qur'an (as pointed out in the article you posted) ... It doesn't really matter how one prays (Sunni, Shia, Wahhabi or any other style), what really matters is that one should establish "Salat" ... If "Salat Method" were really as important as Mullahs will have us believe, don't you think that Allah almighty, when he told us to establish Salat more than 600 times in the Holy Qur'an, could have also told us the "proper" method at least one time ?? Islam is not a mere collection of rites and rituals as Mullahs have turned it into ... The message of Qur'an is universal and the Holy Qur'an is a book of guidance for all mankind.... And contrary to popular belief, Muslims do not have a monopoly on salvation.

As for the other point, I believe wholesale rejection of Hadith is as wrong as uncritical acceptance..

Allama Muhammad Iqbal notes in his seminal work The Reconstruction of Religious Thought in Islam, even Abu Hanifah, regarded as “one of the greatest exponents of Muhammedan Law in Sunni Islam … made practically no use of … traditions”, even though there were collections available at that time made by other people no less than thirty years before his death. Nor did he collect any hadith for his use, unlike his peers Malik and Ahmad Ibn Hanbal.

Thus, according to Iqbal, “if modern Liberalism considers it safer not to make any indiscriminate use of them [Ahadith] as a source of law, it will be only following [the example of Abu Hanifah].”

[Iqbal, A. M., The Reconstruction of Religious Thought in Islam, First Indian Edition 1997, p. 137.]

I didn't get this part i mean i am not saying one shouldn't perform salat all i wanted to know was your opinion on this because in Quran we're told to perform only 3 salats and Quran tells us each and every thing about salat and how to perform it. http://www.quran-islam.org/main_topics/islam/pillars/al-salat_(P1192).html

Means we can dismiss the Hadith where Prophet refused to punish the man who murdered his maid for blasphemy. Only if jazbaati people understood this.

The Holy Qur'an mentions only two (of the 5) prayers by name; Fajr and Isha ... And one Al-Salat Al-Wusta (The Middle Prayer) ... Salat Al Wusta has been interpreted differently by different scholars, however, most probably it is the Jumma prayer ....

Another explanation comes from Sahih Hadith.

Ibn Abbas reported that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) observed in Medina seven (rak'ahs) and eight (rak'ahs), i. e. (combined) the noon (Zuhr) and afternoon (`Asr) prayers (eight rak'ahs) and the dusk (Maghrib)and night ('Isha') prayers (seven rak'ahs).

[sahih al-Bukhari (English translation), volume 1, book 10, number 537; Sahih Muslim (English translation), Kitab al-Salat, Book 4, Chapter 100 Combination of prayers when one is resident, hadith no. 1522]

i.e. 5 prayers, but three times (as mentioned in the Holy Qur'an)

Means we can dismiss the Hadith where Prophet refused to punish the man who murdered his maid for blasphemy. Only if jazbaati people understood this.

Any Hadith that contradicts the Holy Qur'an should be rejected outright

Quran and Hadith are both part of Islam without Hadeeth you can't follow orders of the Quran. Quran only gives order of Salah but you can't even know what is meant by Salah until you follow Hadeeth. To know more about the links follow the notes I have created on this issue on facebook I am posting links for you

I'm not saying that we should reject each and every Hadiths but reject those which don't make any sense and which contradicts Quran and Prophets teachings and looks like you didn't even opened the link in my post. Anyway if you strictly want to follow Hadiths in your personal life and you think that without it you can't follow/understand Quran than do it but don't impose your views on others. My Allah says that Quran has clarification of all the things than i without a second doubt believe him.
"And We have sent down to you the Book as clarification for all things and as guidance and mercy and good tidings for the Muslims." 16:89

"Shall I seek other than God as a source of law, when He has revealed to you this book fully detailed?" 6:114
 sheikh hr ek se pange na lya kr yr :D :P

Sorry but where Quran says that How we should offer Salah where Quran says How to fast where Quran says How to perform Hajj where Quran says How to pay Zakat. Where Quran lot of other orders. You are taking the meaning of ayats of Quran without context and when ever you will do it you would end up in trouble. If Quran has explanation of everything there would have been no need of PROPHET. ALLAH not only sent PROPHET but also told Muslims over and over again to follow him. Please read from the links I gave you previously. Also listen to these scholars. Finally no Hadiths don't go against Quran if you are assuming that some Hadith is going against Quran that doesn't mean it's. It's one of the biggest propaganda and lie spread by known fitna of Pervaizis
