What's new

Pakistani community is under attack in GREECE

Can you please provide me some proof to back up these statements of yours? Thanks.

Dear (only) ignorant.. many western states have made it even legal after passing bills or conducting even elections on the same subject.

The volume of unchecked defaming of Pakistan being carried out on media is so enormous that police would shoot any Pakistani and can walk away by saying i was suspicious or suspicious behavior.

BTW... Have you watched TV in last week? It is nothing but demonizing of Pakistan army/ISI and Pakistanis in general all day and night.

In last three days, interviews of world leaders were relayed, (like Bush, David cameron , Obama) and the bottom line was..... if you want to safe your self let us help in killing Pakistanis.

Media is regulated to not print crimes against Pakistanis.
This news would have never printed by Jang if the association may have not approached the press it self.

Tough times ahead for Greece, I hope calm and sanity prevails.Although irritants like these doesn't help the migrants cause.

Greece to Build First Official Mega-Mosque in Athens :: Hudson New York

The Greek Parliament has approved a controversial plan to build a taxpayer-funded mega-mosque in Athens.

The move comes amid thinly veiled threats of violence by thousands of Muslim residents of the city who have been pressuring the government to meet their demands for a mosque or face an uprising.

The September 7 vote to speed up construction of the first official mosque in Athens –- the only capital in the European Union without a state-funded mosque -– was supported by 198 out of 300 deputies from the left, right and center.

The mosque plan was included in an environment ministry bill regulating illegal construction. The plan calls for renovating an existing state building –- on a disused navy base- – in the industrial district of Votanikos near the center of Athens.

The plan commits the Greek government (by way of the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs) to pay for the construction of a temporary mosque which will be built within the next six months. A larger 1,000 square meter (3,300 square feet) mosque with enough space for 500 worshippers at a time will be built in the same area by the end of 2012, at an estimated cost of around €16 million ($21 million).

The announcement comes as massively indebted Greece battles a growing recession that has left nearly one million Greeks out of work. Greece recently needed a €110 billion ($146 billion) three-year bail-out package to rescue the embattled economy from bankruptcy.

Foreign media is regulated to not print such crimes.

Unless you have spent an extended amount of time in the west, you can't trully appreciate the situation. if you have lived there, then you would never make such statements. Westerners, and North Americans especially, are far more accepting of foreigners than any other part of the world.
It is a bit rich when Pakistanis generalize against Americans based on what they see on the news and then get extremely angry when the Americans form a negative opinion of Islam and Pakistan in the exact same manner. Generalizations are the key reason there is hate in this world. There is nothing wrong with Greeks and westerners, there are bad apples in all societies, providing the rest of the population a vivid example of what not to do with one's life.

This sums up the facts how westerners behave.Thing is

That Pakistan has become xenophobic and developed a victim mentality.

Anywhere anything goes against Pakistan and it is a conspiracy against pakistan.

Even if it rains, its a conspiracy

Sir, your post is pointless it makes no sense, inshort you drove the car in circles and stopped at the same point indirectly blaming Pakistan, well bad try.

Thanks for pointing it out, Sir. I only hope you read all that I am writing -

I already mentioned it is a complicated issue, and may be I was not as clear cut as I should have been:

A comparison was sought between the crimes committed in Greece, and the crimes committed in Pakistan.

While the attacks on Pakistanis in Greece are clearly a sign of impulsive behavior (because it did not happen before, and came into being right when the economy turned to dust), the attacks in Pakistan (on minorities) have been a regular phenomenon for years and through all the different times.

Also the attackers in Greece are the ones behind those crimes, but in Pakistan, the attackers are rather guided by others who are any time more resourceful and cannot be said to have been affected by a worsening economy or a chaotic atmosphere.

So, when I say that the majority of Pakistanis, esp the poor, resourceless ones show any bitterness for others, it can easily be attributed to the chaos and confusion pervading the society. The chaos in the society, and this hatred, both are relatively new phenomena. The turning up of people in mass rallying in favor of Osama bin Laden, can be put as an example of such resentment that is led by socioeconomic factors.

However, those who are behind the crimes against minorities are neither poor, nor resourceless. Their actions are guided more by their personal agendas, than by the changing socioeconomic environment. The example of Mumtaz Qadri shooting Salman Taseer, or a few gunmen barraging the gates of a Shia Mosque, fit in this part.

So ultimately the only comparable actions of the people in Greece, and the people in Pakistan are - rioting by the Greeks in Greece and hurting foreigners, and Pakistanis supporting Osama bin Laden's cause (or even hosting al Qaeda members) in Pakistan.

So the direct violent attacks that target minorities for years and years cannot be compared with whatever is going on in Greece right now.

I'm not talking about Canada & Australia. Those are primarily immigrant countries and are much more familiar with all sort of cultures and religions.
The voting and un-warranted discrimination against Muslims and Mosques only happens in Europe & US and it started since last 5-6 years and Euoropean media has larger role in building hate.

Crimes happen at the anniversary of Sept.11.
Some one tried to paint it a hate crime.
While when we look at the crime those were planned and coordinated attacks rather spontaneous.
Generally, it is difficult to identify a Pakistani among Greek or Indians.... in this case apparently, victims were followed from longer time and intelligence gathering is a professional job not a street crime.
It need lot finance no common greek might be willing to spend his time and money on following Pakistanis.

Just as I thought:

All you have are hot air, insinuations, and slanderous lies to aid your outright false claims.

Where is the substance?

(And calling me names serves nothing.)

You will note that this is actually progress - note "Muslims" has been replace with Pakistanis -- on the other hand, Anti- Muslim sentiment is very strong among certain orthodox communities - for instance, I remember being shocked at how positive coverage of the Serbs was during the Bosnian tragedy.

But the fact that Pakistanis are associated with the kind of Muslims (wearing it on their sleeves and in their fashion sensibility) in this incident should be instructive - to the Pakistanis who got beat up - and of course that Imam has made a name for himself, I wish we knew more about him.

You are trying to reason with BATMAN ?!?!

As i said every one knows but only you are ignorant.

Search internet... while i have seen much more.

Like I said, calling me names will achieve nothing.

The murderer Wein Wien was sentenced to life imprisonment. The justice system delivered, so how can you say anyone "walked away".

The Pakistani student committed suicide after being caught trying to break into a newspaper to attack the editor.

"Not welcome" is a long way from illegal. Not welcome as in "traffic jams and blocked firelanes every Juma"?

In some European towns it is forbidden for Muslims to enter.

Any proof to support that patently false statement?

We blacken our faces with our own black deeds, and then complain when others tell us the truth that we are disliked because of our black deeds.

I may be called names for saying this so bluntly, but deep down everyone knows what I say is true.

Amen to that - but we are muzloums after all - protecting the honor of the prophet and so and so forth

It's like badges of honor - to speak from conscience - it can't be better.

Generally, it is very difficult for a Pakistani or an Indian to blend among the Greeks as a Greek in Greece.

In fact, the Greeks can quickly spot another non-Greek European in a crowd. I was told that by a Dutch, two Greeks, and some very trustworthy Bulgarians, in different places at different points of time, because I too always thought I looked like Pete Sampras (notorious for having Greek looks). But I was told it's not just the looks, it's the darn body language and the difficult to follow Laconic style of communication.

You are lying... about everything.
