Due to the increasing immigration to Europe/Russia from Muslim countries, along with the increasing Islamophobia, as well as economic problems, indigenous Europeans/Russian are resorting to violence to scare immigrant out of their country. Migrant workers provide cheap labor, therefore taking jobs of Europeans and Russians which in turn makes the indigenous population angry, especially when they are losing their jobs and can't feed their families.

strange thing is --- I have heard that Pakistani community is well respected in Greece and in fact they are doing well for themselves -- some there legally, some there illegally as well.

I think that with the austerity measures in place, Greece is going through one of the most difficult periods in its history....their economy is in shambles, the country is near bankrupcy. . .

hell -- I think there is more animosity in Greece towards the German rescuers if anything else. There have of course been anti-immigration right and even left-wingers; and there have been some attacks against Muslim communities there.

When it comes to Pakistan, it becomes a very complicated issue.

It is offtopic, so I will try to be brief on whatever I have learned - The lack of resources, hopelessness, and the state of chaos are, but one of the biggest factors why we witness hatred and frustration so prevalent among the poor of Pakistan. They may be the ones who harbor extreme bitterness for other countries, such as the US or India or even Afghanistan. But they are not the ones who purposefully get violent.

Majority of those who are behind the attacks on minorities or the 'infidels' are actually pretty well off and resourceful too, so the same can't be said about them.

why beat people?
there are many rich nations who dont allow immigration...such as japan....

I hope this is the case President. Sadly historically the Greeks havent shown much remorse towards muslims. I think its down to their relationship with Turkey and affairs and tussles they have had over Cyprus. I must also say their financial situation wont help and perhaps foreigners may be a good scapegoat for them.

It is very much possible.

All the cases w.r.t. Islamic traditions vs. state made famous in Denmark/Norway/Germany/Switzerland/UK, and most notably France, must have also played a role there. Wouldn't be very wise for any Pakistani sporting a traditional attire in any of the volatile areas there.

This is very complicated, but i will tell you this, do read up about pre-world war 2 Germany and what causes gave rise to men like Adolf Hitler, and what caused Fascism to rise in Europe.

BTW, there are more Neo NAZI's in Russia and Eastern Europe (including Greece) than any other part of the world, and i have seen Russian Muslims speaking against immigration of foreigners into Russia.
