LMAO US generals and their lies. Look at them now. Sobbing and hoping Pakistan self-destructs. I can understand why US military establishment feels humiliated at the hands of Pakistan. Two decades in Afghanistan and nothing to show for. Empty handed and angry as always.

I've been warning about this for a long time, and so have many within Pakistan.

The fensing cannot completely stop the refugee flow, and millions WILL find a way to cross over.

There WILL be terrorist attacks. You saying that Pakistan will simply crush them won't change the fact that those attacks will happen, and lives will be lost.

No one is giggling or laughing, this is is merely an observation based on ground reality.

By the way, the US's failures in Afghanistan were 100% the fault of US politicians, not the military. The US military had multiple good plans to stabilize Afghanistan, but Bush, and Obama both gutted those plans: for example, remember the Obama era surge of troops? The US military wanted 300,000 troops over a period of 15 years, what Obama gave them were only a couple of tens of thousands, and only for a few years, because Obama was scared of the political backlash.

Anyway, back to topic, anyone who believes that the taliban taking over Afghanistan is good for Pakistan, or a US withdrawal is a Pakistani victory are living in a delusion. A US withdrawal will create a vacuum that will allow multiple terrorist groups to flourish, including the ttp. This idea that the talibam are pro-pakistan is stupid, because if they were, they would A) kick out the ttp, which they have continued to refuse to do, and B) accept the Durand line, which they've refused to do since they were in charge of Afghanistan, and in fact threatened to attack Pakistan if Pakistan ever enforces the border.

Simply because terroist attacks are happening due to involvement of kabul govt and USA doesnt has time to disrupt these...ttp may or may not have space but their funding and training will stop and may be disrupted if pakistan aligns/funds/support the taliban

Last time Pakistan welcomed them in. This time Pakistan will be more wary. Most Afghans want to flee to the west not Pakistan anyway. If they do show up......we should drop them off at the Indian border. Afghans love India according to the Indian posters on PDF .

You'll notice Iran has been very quiet about this news. Their could be a few important reasons as to why.

1) Withdrawl of US troops from Afghanistan means reduced deterence

Withdrawl of US troops from their bases creates a reduction of potential targets in case of direct bombing of Iran by the US airforce. If hypothetically, their are no US bases in the region, Iran virtually has no deterrence to prevent a B-52 squadron of launching a flurry of cruise missiles at Iran.

2) Possibility of Taliban controlled Kabul.

While not nessisraily the worst thing for Iran, the prospect of a Taliban controlled Kabul would cause a large refugee crisis to the tune of a million on Irans eastern border, particularly in Herat province. Last thing Iran can afford is a refugee crisis.

3) Greater security dilemma

Without any prior negotiation or agreement with the Taliban, either Iran must be willing accept a flow of refugees or may have to intervene to create a enclave in Herat similar to Turkey and Idlib where citizens are relatively safe from trouble and provide little reason to seek refugee status. This is the worst and least likely scenario but the fact of the matter is, Iran actually relies heavily on the US to keep Afghanistan from imploding onto it's borders even though it is alleged they've been supporting the Taliban to harrass US troops.

Biggest Loser: India
Possibly joining India as biggest loser would be Iran.

USSR tried for 10 plus years and failed.
The might of the British army tried and failed.

Gurella warfare is much more effective against large armies that require a huge momentum to shift paradigm.
Direct confrontation between India and Pakistan may lead to nuclear conflict and neither party wants that. So just as paksitan created an environment to defeat USSR and NATO it will focus the resource on India.
We live in the real world not bollywood. Remember your hero is abinandhan. And your PM is a chai wala and a murderer of Gujrat who maintains power through division and oppression of minorities and border conflict for votes. Sorry if that upsets you but they are facts.

Any influx of refugees coming to Pakistan Incase of uncertainty in Afghanistan, should be settled in Sindh. Federal Government should give Sindh government special incentives to settle them in temporary refugee camps in upper Sindh instead of KPK due to security reasons.
