Pakistan will be most impacted by US, NATO withdrawal from Afghanistan: Senior US military commander

If India wants the installed Ghani regime intact for the following years post the US withdrawal, it needs to have its own boots on the ground. Who will trust the ANA, whose soldiers defect in the dozens daily to the IEA?
Best thing would be

IA sends atleast one corps level formation to back the ANA government in Kabul

Pakistan completely shuts off the afgan border.

.
I pray India send soldiers...it will be open hunting season. I will start a hunting touring company. Targets and points based on Indians killed by rank

They will realise that simply trying to train the ANA will not be enough to protect their own interests in AFG, they will need their own military there, if they want a sustainable influence in AFG to counter Pakistan.

I think we know what will happen. Isi training ground

It's a shame that this doesn't get enough traction in your strategic and policymaking circles. I think the Ghani admin has even requested for Indian troops but have been turned down in recent times. With the US withdrawal coming up, India should seriously consider this as an option, after all what have they got to lose?

Not much. But will Kanjoos baniya understand ?

Modi G is dreaming of droning the NWFP like the americans did 10 years ago.

Imagine the PR BJP will get from this. Arnob Ghoswami will flood the studio..

Pakistan is openly backing the Afghan-led peace process, it has no ulterior motives. All it wants is peace for Afghanistan, if Afghanistan becomes peaceful, naturally the soft power of Pakistani hospitality will pervade Afghanistan and its future leaders, whoever they may be, will have friendly and mutually beneficial relations with Pakistan.

Only those parties anemic to the above framework may see a hostile reaction.

Please do not forget that before the US there was USSR in Afghanistan and what happened to Pakistan during that period.

Just one question, are you old enough to live in Pakistan during first Afghan war against Soviets or you are basing our argument on what you have heard or read? I have.

I am old enough - and then some.

Actually, a comparison here is logical, and needed, if one has the necessary maturity, of course.

Please, carry on with your "logical" comparisons between the Pakistan of 80s and post 9/11. I am all ears.

Let's start with whether Pakistan was able to act in its own interest during either or both or neither of these time periods. It might give an idea of what might happen in this third era beginning after the US withdrawal.

It depends on who you talk. I am not talking about perceptions or narrative here. The ground realities, the facts is what I am after. Lets start with how many Pakistani citizens died in a war which was fought directly against a super power, the soviets, to the one where Pakistan allied and aided the other super power, US, with its occupation of Afghanistan. The economic cost, the infrastructure, Pakistan global image, etc.
