Interesting.....so what kind of "parity" do you have with the IAF ?

IAF has around 34 squadrons while PAF has 26. That gives a ratio of 1:1.30. You can not win the air battle with that kind of ratio.

Well, I think we have more than 5 missiles per plane of the PAF, which is a good enough ratio to win.

Considering missiles launch to kill ratio that is extremely poor justification. By the way PAF too has missiles. Should we not have the same reason to win.

Soon after the terrorist strikes our Army was ordered to mobilize for a potential attack on Pak, but they took just too much time, by which all the international community became aware about a potentious war between the two nuclear armed countries and used all sorts of pressures tactics and threats till we backed out.

The biggest concern is Pakistani incompatible and relatively weak air-defense systems, I think Jordan is a good example to follow, since Jordan couldn't fund getting similar numbers and types that IAF has, it turned to acquiring the most modern and effective air-defense systems with large numbers to fill the gap that Israeli air force superiority poses on Jordan. So, Air-force and air-defense complete each other in this case. Pakistani airspace would be prohibited from Indian jets if it has S-400, SAM-17, Pantsir-s2 in large numbers.

S-400 aren't even for sale yet, I think. By the way we have the latest Chinese variant of S-300PMU-2 (FD/T-2000) etc. which is good enough for anything that IAF operates today.

our Air defence corps is deep down in the pecking order so not much is left for its advancement. I cant speak for the ground based air defences for the airports by the PAF but over all the army air defence is lacking. we still got 50s era crotale missile system operating with some unconfirmed inventory of high altitude Russian clones of SAM systems from china. I dont even want to mention AAK AAK and only worthwhile mention is Spada system.

as long as we are mired in the WoT and under current economic conditions there is nothing else that can be done. we cant just pump oil and sort out our problems. we have to sweat and bleed to earn what we want

Why is PAF continually inducting US F-16's? I mean we can't use these jets independently. Chinese weapons might be inferior but they are jammer-free for us!

we are going for US F-16s because it is the only option available to us.we cant afford to but any front line european fighters like rafale or eurofighter .JF-17 production rate shows that we will be having JFTs in ample numbers not before 2020 atleast.J-10B is still a prototype.so the only option left for PAF is to acquire 36 blk 50 F-16s n upgrade the older ones which is being done.u need to have a world class fighter which is proven and reliable and cost effective n no doubt F-16 is the only choice for PAF.JFT block 1 has given PAF some capability to defend its aerial boundaries but it is not an equal match to any 4.5 gen jet in the world.
so till the time we dont get block 2 JFTs n J10B i think F-16s is the only option.
as far as war against US and her allies is concerned.no sir we cant fight them not because we dont have air crafts but because of lack of leadership

Not only are USA weapons useless AGAINST USA but also AGAINST USA ALLIES & USA strategic interests.

30 years AGO INDIA was USA enemy or a NON ally. IN CONTRAST PAKISTAN was a USA strategic ally. IT MADE SENSE to buy USA weapons.

TODAY india is a USA friend and parter and a growing merging interest. the indian business comunity of usa has massive influence in pentagon.

IN SHORT USA will not support Pakistan or its F16s in a war with india (that is a known) fact.

Kayani and rao recently said these f 16s have no limitation to target US jets. so I would guess that "jammer'' part was wrong.
