Nawaz's Illness is Genuine!!

Hm, when you say it like that it really hits home. So we have Joffrey(s), we have Starks (multiple generations), where’s Daenerys to break the wheel? And I hope she doesn’t get as carried away as with the least season when she does bring her dragons to the Blue Area.

What I say here on PDF is nothing compared to reality when it hits, and it does hit home every time. No exceptions. I can only try to portray realism as best as I can.

Sadly, this sense of "deja vu all over again" is something we are witnessing yet again with a fresh palette of characters. Rinse. Repeat.

Bhutto was treated miserably before his death too. He was found guilty in a court that had no legal or moral integrity. He had been kept in abysmal conditions, even deprived of water before his public testimony.

Islamic and other world leaders begged Zia to be merciful, clemency was asked for by other countries’ heads of states, but much like Joffrey, he proceeded with killing him. If I recall correctly, Gaddafi sent his Prime Minister to Pakistan to beseech for Bhutto’s releases and exile to Libya. A Libyan presidential aircraft waited for a whole week before final refusal and then eventual execution.

It turns out what half the country was convinced of was untrue. He was tried in a kangaroo court, justices removed and replaced to suit the predetermined verdict. Witnesses were tortured and their testimonies were shockingly poor.

Today Bhutto still has millions remembering him. However, Zia died in a plane crash and he’s vilified by some and forgotten by most.
Bhai, what else is required for Nawaz?

He has been released on bail, and is getting a treatment by extremely experienced doctors. Is he being mistreated?

Seriously sir, we must start to trust our own doctors.. There's a huge potential of medical tourism because getting treatment of certain diseases is really cheap in Pakistan.

I work in healthcare sector, and a friend of mine has undergone bone marrow transplant in Karachi because his treatment was not available in UAE. Insurance company gave him an option to choose any country.. and he chose Pakistan.. why? Because the doctor in Karachi is so experienced that he delivers lectures in Europe...

Fact is that the condition is treatable in Pakistan and Shareefs have access to the best medical care in Pakistan at the expense of Pakistani taxpayers. Other citizens do not enjoy what Shareefs are enjoying.

I have full faith in the doctors and full faith in the government to restore NS to health by giving him the treatment he needs. You’re right, but I’m talking about something a little beyond just medical treatment here.

And it’s good to hear of medical advances in Pakistan. I hope it continues.

.
May god bless him with the best of health. He is a friend for peace in the subcontinent. Also, a personal friend for PM Modi. Relations between Pakistan and India would have been much better if he were still in power. Unfairly targeted by the military at every stage. Wish him the best.

Got it ! Indians are happy with Pakistan having corrupt leaders.

.
Why not just break traffic lights, burn buses and sh1t on the lawns of the Supreme Court?

Seriously, advocating such anarchy does not help Pakistan at all.

So according to you, Parliamentary Democracy is the ONLY option for Pakistan?

. .
Remove the word ‘parliamentary’. And now we’re on the correct subject matter.

It does not matter what name one gives it, but Pakistan has a carefully structured and well-managed system that works exceedingly well for those who control it. The same system that created NS and so many others will also destroy them by any means necessary when it suits their purposes, the present setup included.

The kind of illnesses being described aren’t just faked. And if they were, he wouldn’t be hospitalised and other news were getting. Authorities have repeatedly blocked his colleagues and family members access. If he is in hospital, the same authorities would have deemed it very necessary.

Frankly, people were rather shamelessly saying the same thing when Kulsoom Nawaz was in poor health. ‘Fake, excuses, drama’ etc, and then she shortly passed away due to illness thereafter and the shameless bs subsided.

And if his objective was to simply escape, which I can say quite surely it probably isn’t his objective. Why did he even come back to be put on trail, jailed etc. He was in London and made a decision to return.

The only plausible argument left for you to make now is to say that perhaps he didn’t anticipate such harsh treatment and now feels like escaping. That is pure conjecture, but to this I have to say that he is an old man, and a former head of state. If the conditions he has been kept in are as bad as the stories say, then it’s a shameful way to treat a former PM.
Isn't it shameful for a PM to be looting and allowing the country to be brought to it's knees through rampant corruption?
He is lucky to be where he is.
A bullet in the head is what he deserves, as does his family and his cronies.

The sad part is that those who do not learn from history are condemned to repeating it.

There are whole classes of disorders for which no definitive cause or treatment is known. Remember how Arafat died?
What I was trying to say that for such conditions, even doctors in UK will say the same.

But what if he goes abroad and gets treated? We read such news with shame that a condition couldn't get treated in Pakistan but in UK, doctors were able to not only identify the cause but also treat it. It's so discouraging for us Pakistanis. What do you think what Indians say when they get these news?

Shareefs took Kulsoom Nawaz to UK, where nothing extra was delivered by the doctors. She died because of the side effects of one of the similar drug administered during chemotherapy. My mother also died last year because of the same condition, but in Karachi. The only difference was that we decided to not put her on ventilator.

A Lebanese mother was searching for cheap BMT procedures for her son a few months back because her insurance wasn't covering it. I conveyed her a message to go to Pakistan because the whole procedure costs approx. 100,000 dhs.

Patients look at these reports when they decide to get treatment abroad when their insurance rejects to cover the treatment costs. A three times prime minister, who says he doesn't trust pakistani doctors gives a really bad reputation to our doctors.

On the other hand, just look at India, or Thailand. They attract so many foreigners from different countries. It's because their politicians trust their own medical system.

I have no sympathy for Nawaz Sharif if he insists on going abroad for treatment.

You make some good points, but a discussion of the broader aspects of the healthcare system in Pakistan is a whole another thread, specially compared to elsewhere in the world, and in terms of patient outcomes. I would not want to be vulturized for going off topic here.

I can tell you that there are some private hospitals which are better than average hospitals in Europe. But when you look at patient outcome in general, it is poor in Pakistan because we include all healthcare facilities in our calculations. And that's a shame because an average citizen doesn't have access to best healthcare which our politicians can enjoy in Pakistan. One of the reasons I hate these politicians is that they didn't put any effort to improve the quality of government healthcare in Pakistan. Now after this, if anyone says that these crooks should be sent abroad while a common Pakistani should be left in civil hospital Karachi to die because there are no drugs available or there are no facilities to treat the patient, I will continue to disagree with him.

Fair enough, let us see how PMIK is able to improve such outcomes during his term in office. After all, he should be judged by the same standards as his predecessors.

I will call him a hypocrite if he gets his treatment abroad, whether he is able to improve outcomes or not.

Actually, I am in favor of denying treatment to government people in non government healthcare facilities

If you say this:

One of the reasons I hate these politicians is that they didn't put any effort to improve the quality of government healthcare in Pakistan.

then why give PMIK an exemption by not judging him by the same standards?

Any comments on this old story?

Doesn't Pakistan have the facilities for treating back injuries?
