Really she was not stopping an area she way praying in corner. She was not detonating a bomb or something.

She was putting her piousness on exhibition, which is not only poor in taste but disliked by Allah too. I have been to States and I know all to well how one should behave at public places and what is expected from him by the public.

A. She could have said qasar prayers once back home.
B. She could have requested for a room to say her prayers in solitude.
C. She should have not come to visit ESB in or near the time of prayers.

However, I have seen many such 'fake' drama queen so-called religious Pakistanis who tend to behave like this and in process get into trouble and earn bad name for other Pakistanis.

I have experienced similar things while travelling by train or by Air where these 'exhibitionists' insist on performing prayers in 'jamaat'; nothing can be more ridiculous and stupid than saying prayers in 'jamaat' in moving train or airplanes. Not only it is unnecessary, it also causes discomfort to other passengers, and potentially puts lives of other passengers in danger when in air.

Such stupid acts by certain 'exhibitionists' must be discouraged.

Public display of religiosity is about religious one-upmanship, as in 'I am holier than thou', and very little about genuine piety.

Sadly it is, its all about overtly proving yourself as some sort of Saint. I have noticed this amongst some Muslims here, there are plenty of prayer rooms, there are prayer rooms in most of British airports yet some decide they need to show off and make some sort of point.

Typically fraudulent "muslims". Over my lifetime, I have noticed that the loudest and most "open" muslims are the worst people in general. Fraud, greed, bigotry, racism is all halaal for these punks. Not to mention they're violating their religious obligations. One simply does not pray in a busy street, which empire state bldg's observation deck is more or less.

We know in General public do not Like praying of Muslims in public place particularly in west. So one must be care full while praying to God that he is not over showing his self. I have seen them praying in public.. sometimes there is no other choice. but most of them wont inconvinence others, they will chose a place which is less crowded.

Everyone here acts like they saw what happened. If they where praying, when there where not a lot of people around. I don't see the big problem. Its possible; that there where no other people on the observation deck, that particular time. I dont encourage praying in public, but if they where genuinely harassed by the security , than they are in their right.

Few Thing For You Guys You Can Say your prayers any place If that place is clean and U r also clean in wado , and you are not disturbing any one and even their are different ways to perferm your prayers
Alot places doesnt have Public prayers room . So if its namaz time and you are not in ur home and or not close to mosque than you can perform your prayers in a silent area where no one is in your way. Majority Muslims who perferm Namaz on General Public is mostly from Arab because those area and society understood what that person is doing While he was Offering his namaz , but in other countries which dont understand they take it as a very big thing .
Let Allah be the judge if he accepts his Namaz or not.
If anyone is offering his prayers without being in anyones way or disturbing anyone no matter what religion he follows their isnt any problem Because he doesnt just lives in mosque. Mosques are more like a center point where every one comes up at the same time in a group to offer their prayers
