If the news is true than..... its the FO who is playing jack *** here, one wonder...., what is the purpose of releasing such statement?
Maybe FO should have also mentioned, who took the money from NK and may be FO should also explain, why does same wall mart released same nuclear tech. to Iran without charge?

AQK in his interview has clearly told.... that he was working on orders from PM house, now army can only be blamed, if President was army chief.

IMO, Musharraf did nothing, what wasn't known to US and rest of the anti Pakistan bundle. If he had lied, US would have released evidences, interviewed characters, etc. to the world and that would be true embarrassment.
How US got hold of every tit bit of both deals... is another chapter of story.

Point 3, where would AQK have gone? Lets say he wanted to leave in 1999/2000, if conspiracy theories are to be believed that "Islamic nations" shouldn't have the bomb where would he have been safe? In Mecca? Baghdad? Tehran? AQK was stuck in Pakistan the minute he brought technology to Pakistan.

If he wanted, he had (and has) multiple options. There is no dearth of the countries (i.e. North Korea, Iran etc) or even groups in this world who want to develop a nuke. Also, if he becomes "repentant and cooperates" with west, all of his sins will be forgiven since the secrets he has in his heart are more precious than anything.

I questioned his involvement. He had the prestige in Pakistan to be able to stand up to the idiots who wanted to proliferate technology. Be it that Pakistan and India have weaponized program but every nation thus far has been apart of the global community. If Pakistan proliferated to Australia or Brazil there wouldn't have been as much of a blacklash as to N. Korea. I know the differences in the uranium and plutonium base between Pakistan and N.Korea.

Patriotism again...I don't want to divulge the details here.. By the way, nuclear proliferation was not a crime for Pakistan since Pakistan neither signed NPT nor any other such agreement so it is not binding on Pakistan and CIA didn't get any clue except for the shoddy piece Musharraf. They were working on conjectures since 80's but the highly corrupted and compromised weak Musharraf recognised immediately that it was Pakistani centrifuge design....How on earth did he do that I still wonder except that the piece of crap was securing his post retirement plans. Getting invitations from US universities/institutions to give lectures, living in US and UAE....do you think it is just a coincidence? What does he has to offer to the students of those top class institutions... NADA.. but under that pretext he receives a steady stream of income from his masters and permit to enjoy his life.

But then the pak nuc program also used him well---they showed him as their face ( the deceit ) whereas capable scientists worked in other arenas and completed the job---.

Just like he used the media---similarly he got used by the powers to be---.

The other nations attentions was diverted towards him most of the time---while the work was being done by very capable people---.

You cannot duly pay even 10% of his work so bringing pay grade into discussion is simply idiotic and irrelevant. It is not about the quantity of the work rather the quality of the work that mattered in that project and I'm telling that if it was not for Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan's innovative and revolutionary work, Pakistan would not have succeeded in nuclear program and I don't have the time for going into details of the plutonium and uranium route but it is sufficient to say that technique employed by Dr. A. Q. Khan was the most suitable for Pakistan as it enabled Pakistan to achieve its goal within the shortest feasible time (window of opportunity) i.e. prior to the finish of the Afghan Soviet war in ~1985- 87 and have few deliverable devices before 1990s and that exactly Pakistan did thanks to the pioneering work of Dr. A. Q. Khan and that hurt egos of a lot of elephants and lizards in nuclear program / bureaucracy who had GoP chase the mirage of conventional / (plutonium based) nuclear program. So we are indebted to his work that has secured Pakistan's defence.
