Joint Chiefs Chair Mark Milley says 'potential for conflict' with China and Russia is 'increasing'

Usa is super power in the oceans but China is not far in numerical strength. Quality wise you can't beat USA.
In what? Soldiers? China is essentially a land power, not sea power. The PLAN may have numerical superiority in ships, but not where the power of the modern navy really count: naval aviation.

The problem with the PDF Chinese members is that they are contemptuous of study, especially on a military oriented forum. They talk about the carrier as being targets for ballistic missiles, and we can go into a different debate about the validity of that argument. But they do not understand the true value of naval aviation which is power projection. Missiles do not project the PRESENCE of a country the way a naval fleet can, and within that fleet is the aircraft carrier. The presence of a country implies the military power of that country, not unseen missiles in silos several thousands kms away. The launch of a naval fleet does not equate to war, but the launch of a single missile does. This is why the aircraft carrier remains the most potent symbol of power projection any country can wield.

If Washington takes the tensions with China to the next level.... The Pakistani Prime Minster should be very careful not to visit Beijing.... Otherwise another Letter may land on the Pakistani COAS laps....

A special panel will be setup and the advise will be to remain on US side.

The country’s top military officer on Tuesday issued a dire warning that the world is becoming more turbulent, raising the chances of a deadly conflict between the United States and other world powers.

As he detailed the threat, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley also split with the White House over his decision to scrap plans for a new sea-launched nuclear missile.

He said that the United States and its allies should prepare for war in Ukraine, which will last for years.

Milley and other prominent military figures appeared before the House Armed Services Committee to discuss the Pentagon’s proposed $773 billion budget for next year.

He did so against the backdrop of the Russian war in Ukraine, and almost daily warnings that China is flexing its muscles in the Indo-Pacific and around the world.

“The United States is going through a very critical and historical geo-strategic inflection point,” he said.

We are entering a world that is becoming more turbulent and the potential for major international conflict between the great powers is increasing, not decreasing.

“The United States needs to pursue a clear strategy for maintaining peace through an unequivocal capacity for force compared to the People’s Republic of China and Russia.”

I thought only UK will vanish from the map of the earth. Seems like USA as well.

In everything, land power, airforce, navy ships. They have enough firepower to be close to the USA. I just did some reading on naval aviation, Usa is unbelievable 😲

We should be neutral...not on any side. That's our future

We should, but we aren't. The armed forces have removed a sitting PM because he was critical of US meddling. That should tell you where our allegiance lies.

Thought they removed him because it was no confidence vote.
