What's new

US, state sponsor of terrorism: Analyst

They have yet to even proper develop a carrier battle group to properly protect their Liaoning. In my honest opinion, she (Liaoning) is a sitting duck in the water against USN and JMSDF forces.

China's PLAN is divided into 3 fleets: North Sea Fleet, East Sea Fleet and South Sea Fleet. They literally do not have enough destroyers to address the overwhelming surface combat ships of Japan MSDF, we have 46 destroyers , they have less than 30. They have their North Sea Fleet stationed so as to address any Russian or JMSDF contingency, and their entire East Sea Fleet is supposed to be capable of handling a naval contingency vis-a-vis USN 7th Fleet, JMSDF West Command ? LOL!

In a hypothetical naval scenario, their North Sea Fleet , and East Sea Fleet would be neutralized by combined JMSDF + USN 7th Fleet. What remaining force is left would probably sail to meet their South Sea Fleet. That leaves the entire North East and Eastern Corridor of China exposed to naval , naval-air terra-strategic bombing.

Some Chinese flaunt saying that their country has 'hard power' ? LOL. There is nothing 'hard power' about most of their rusting type 053 frigates that cannot answer our Mitsubishi Cruise missiles, or our prowling Soryu Class Subs. Let alone the USN's Ohio Class...

My underlying point is this: China is quantitatively and QUALITATIVELY outgunned and outclassed. Period.

:lol::lol::lol:

Yes, Japan may have a better Navy than China currently but things are about to change fast.

China is currently building 2 Type-052D destroyers a year and will soon start building the Type-055 cruiser.

Add to this the Type-095 SSN and 2 domestic carriers that being built, then by around 2020, China will have a navy of 3 CBGs which will make it easily the 2nd most powerful navy in the world.

China has only recently been constructing modern ships in numbers as it lacked the technology and the money to a lesser extent bbefore.

And Japan is to sit idly by? Do you understand that we just recently passed a resolution for defense acquisition amounting up to $247 Billion to acquire F-35s (42 of them), as as to produce 5 Atago Class Destroyers, several Kongo Class, and Soryu class submarines , not considering our plans to build a Maritime Land Strike Force, similar to the Kaigun-rikusen-tai (Imperial Japanese Naval Marines), and our plans to purchase drones, UAVs, and more maritime patrol craft.

In Asia, Japan not only has the largest navy, but is the most technologically advanced. Of course, not considering the United States' Pacific Command, which in itself is a Power to be reckoned with.

We do not fear China. We have the capability , capacity to gut their entire surface combat fleet, and their submarine force? JMSDF has a potent ASW capability that would render their (PLAN) sub threat nill.

Please know that our defense budget is only <1% of our GNP, standing at $60 Billion per annum. If we were to increase it to say 3%, which we can as stipulated in our Constitution, we can have a defense budget of ~ $180 BILLION.

As for your final bit, your drivel is nothing but worthless hot air. It's obvious to everyone here that you have an inferiority complex and an unhealthy obsession with the US. The US has faced far greater threats in its history than China. We don't fear anyone, and never will.

Hello sir,

Welcome to the forum---the u s has faced diddly sh-it in the form of threat---. Untill & unless the u s mainland is attacked, conquered by foreign armies & then overthrown by the locals & re-established---till then there is no substance to talk about greater threats the u s has faced.

Indeed the chinese have no clue about the weapons systems that the u s has & what they can do.

The thing is that the u s will bring this war into china---& unless china cannot take this war into the u s mainland & sustain with the same intensity---they will lose badly---they will be smashed like never before.

Here is a lesson to the chinese----in afghanistan a million dollar device was used to destroy a 50 dollar building---but in china---that million dollar device will destroy a 5 million dollar building.

Only if the chinese can take out the bases from where the u s can launch its air strikes from---china has no hope.

To the chinese memeber---Sir----you still do not have the capability to manufacture a fighter aircraft engine that can compete with an american fighter aircraft engine built in the 1960's---.

My reccomendation is---please don't ask for war with the u s---avoid it @ all costs. The current u s presidents are clueless & the u s generals the most incompetent that you will find in the history of warfare---their only saving grace is the te chnology they sit on & the supply line that keeps churning out the machines & bullets without any hinderance.

@Nihonjin1051 :

Problem with Japan is that you are too reliant on US technology and so US can control
how powerful you get.

As an example, it may be impossible for Japan to build a CBG in 10 years as you may not be able to build all components of the destroyers and will struggle to build a decent SSN as you have no experience in this type of submarines.

There is no way that the United States and its allies in Asia-Pacific will be ejected for the immediate to long term future. America + Japanese Navy = greater than the navies of the world combined, plus qualitatively superior. The only way America would be 'ejected' from Asia is if for some magical reason Japan radically cut all relations with the united states and ordered its forces out. Which is an unrealistic scenario.

The military conquest of the United States is impossible. There is no power in this Earth that can conquer this country. For one, the United States Navy would sink any foreign fleet that would even try to make for the US coast (west or east), second, the United States is an armed country. This country is unlike any other in the world; majority of Americans have personal weapons , and know their terrain. Third, American Air Power.

America is, too, too, too, powerful.

It is just ridiculous to even talk about scenarios that would discuss foreign invasion of the United States.

@MastanKhan :

Have you not heard of WS-10 engine that equips both J-11B and J-16 and is roughly what the US was able to produce around 1990?

We have a dynamic relationship with the United States, and our collaboration has resulted in many of our own indigenous designs. Quite the contrary, it is the United States that has been pushing Japan to take up a more active role, something that we have recently taken interest to. As per the Abe administration.

We have already built 2 helicopter carriers, we can easily create and build a carrier the likes of a Nimitz Class. I must also remind you, my friend, that in the Pacific War, Japan fielded 11 Air craft carriers. We have the experience and the capability of doing it now.

Japan can build the Nimitz-type carrier but will be unable to build the engines that power the fighter aircraft.

Problem with Japan is that America controls the key technologies and can withhold them to control Japan.

@UKBengali ,

We have recently just launched more Akizuki-Class Destroyers, of our own indigenous designs...

I don't think you know what you're talking about. We have built an Azumo Class carrier, the technology we used for such a light carrier, can be replicated for much a larger tonnage of a ship.

Hasn't faced threats? The US had to expel the the British Empire twice, fought our own Civil War with over 600,000 casualties, fought both Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan on two fronts, and had to deal with the Soviets for a half century. The same Soviets that built over 60,000 nuclear warheads, and that we nearly went to war with. And we're supposed to be afraid of China?

The F-35s will be a true gamechanger in the Pacific, especially the F-35Bs aboard our amphib assault ships. It's basically doubling our at sea air power projection to over 20 carriers. 3,000 F-35s are expected to be procured between the US and our allies. It's stealth, highly advanced avionics and sensors, electronic attack, cyber capabilities, data-links, and network centric warfare capabilities prove to be a very formidable foe. I suggest reading breakingdefenses two part f-35 series and their interview with General Mike Hostage who will command the F-35 fleet.

Indeed. I cannot wait to see these beauties on top of our 2 Azumo -Class Carrier, too. We ordered 42 F-35As, and an unspecified amount of F-35Bs. This will give the JMSDF the capability to project power and contain any hostile training carrier cbg if they are within our range. :)

American technology is , for lack of better words, bada$$. :lol:
