Supreme court acted within 24 hours to request Past government to go thru vote of no confidence even when assembly was dissolved.

1- This is a blatant refusal on mandate set in Pakistan's Constitution to hold elections, after already an existing delay of 13 months

2- The Supreme court had given direct orders on Implementation of Election Mandate


The ECP has been guilty of criminal negligence in failure to organize elections
They instead have wasted time to unnecessarily abuse the most loved party PTI in country of Pakistan


3- The announcement on eve of 23rd March is a disrespect not only to current generation of Pakistani but all Pakistanis and Original Founders of Pakistan

My understanding is that Governments can declare emergency while Martial Law would mean Military is taking over as the government.

Shouldn't Treason charges kick in on every member of Election commission? If Musharraf can be tried for treason , why not these guys ? Imran should petition the court ..

Treason charges goes against all members of parliament who were present during that session and ECP, according to the constitution of Pakistan.

Completely different situation.

Sri Lanka defaulted, they didn't have anything, so the government imposes emergency so that they can focus on the important things.

In Pakistan, the situation is completely different. We are in no such situation for now.

Academically you are right, emergency and martial law are different things, in Pakistan, during Musharraf and now, they are practically the same.
